Description

POSITION PURPOSE Operator II’s are responsible for operating all heavy equipment on a jobsite with the exception of cranes. The majority of their tasks require physical labor in an outdoor environment on a construction site. Essential Job Functions Equipment Operation and Proficiency : Skilled in operating a variety of heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, skid steers loaders, and rollers. Ability to perform tasks like digging, grading, loading, and lifting with precision and efficiency. Equipment Maintenance and Inspection : Knowledgeable in routine maintenance and inspection procedures to ensure equipment is in optimal working condition. Ability to identify and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and report major problems to maintenance personnel. Safety and Compliance : Comprehensive understanding of safety regulations and best practices related to heavy equipment operation. Committed to adhering to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines and company safety policies to minimize risks on the job site. Site Preparation and Layout : Proficient in interpreting site plans and blueprints to understand project specifications and requirements. Ability to prepare and grade construction sites to ensure proper foundations and structures. Operational Efficiency : Capable of performing tasks quickly and accurately to meet project deadlines. Skilled in optimizing equipment performance and productivity while minimizing fuel consumption and wear. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or GED preferred with three (3) years of construction experience and at least three (3) years’ experience operating cranes. LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES Building People: Ability to build strong relationships with team members, promote open communication, and embrace a positive team culture. Ability to take a proactive approach to learning and problem-solving. Follows directions accurately and efficiently, paying close attention to details, seeking clarification when needed, and ensuring that tasks are completed according to established guidelines. Excels in accurately assessing task complexity, setting clear objectives, managing deadlines, and problem-solving to ensure successful execution. Building Clients: Dependable and follow through on commitments and promises to clients and employees. Ability to focus on the client/employee’s needs and understand how to address and deliver satisfactory solutions to meet those client/employee’s needs. Building Community: Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with others, and has a team-building mentality. Promotes ACE and all associated values in every aspect of work and at events. Aware of the needs of others, and has the ability to continually develop respect and confidence from others through consistent honesty and forthrightness.
