HSNS is funded by the NS Government to deliver integrated and standardized provincial services across 37 clinical sites, located in 26 communities. Nationally<br>certified Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists, with support from Communication Disorder Technicians and Administrative Support Professionals, provide core services (prevention, diagnosis, and treatment), develop and monitor provincial clinical standards, and collaborate with partners to deliver a number of special programs (e.g., Autism, Stroke, Cochlear Implant). This position will provide virtual, in person, and/or group speech-language services on Cape Breton Island. The home base will be on the Island at one of the current HSNS sites (Sydney, Sydney Mines, Evanston). The successful candidate reports to the assigned Manager and will have a flexible schedule to allow evening and/or weekend services, as required.</p>\n<p><br>This role offers the opportunity to work across a variety of settings and communities throughout Cape Breton, supporting accessible service delivery and helping to reduce barriers for children and families.</p>\n<p><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Requirements:</span><br>-Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology<br>-Nova Scotia College of Audiologists &amp; Speech-Language Pathologists (NSCASLP) licensure or eligible for licensure<br>-Effective communication skills, including proficiency in written and spoken English. If English is not your first language further documents will be required.<br>-Flexibility in work schedule to provide evening/weekend services<br>-Flexibility to travel on occasion to attend continuing education, events and/or meetings<br>-Candidates will have to demonstrate current immunization and/or boosters at the end of the probationary period<br>-Experience with provision of preschool speech and language assessment and treatment<br>-Familiarity with a variety of service delivery options for pediatric caseloads<br>-Flexibility in work schedule to support outreach/parachute services<br>-Flexibility to travel throughout NS on a regular basis<br>-Demonstrated commitment to family-centered care<br>-Valid Nova Scotia driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle</p>\n<p><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Assets:</span><br>-Experience with off-site/home-based service delivery model<br>-Experience working with interprofessional clinical teams and/or working with supportive personnel<br>-Experience with provision of services via telepractice<br>-Experience providing caregiver training and/or coaching<br>-Experience in provision of outreach clinics<br>-Ability to communicate in multiple languages in a clinical setting<br>-Lived experience with a communication difference<br>-Able to start immediately</p>\n<p><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Note </span>– All offers of employment will be conditional upon results of a criminal records check/vulnerable sector search and child abuse registry search, all to be satisfactory to the employer.
