KCSA Peer Mentor: $1500 stipend paid over three pay periods Dates of Employment: July 8, 2026-August 8, 2026 KCSA Peer Mentor Position Summary: Under the supervision of the assistant director of HEOP, the Keuka College Summer Academy (KCSA) Senior Peer Mentor will reside with and mentor the KCSA Peer Mentors for four weeks during the program and serve in an on-call role during nighttime hours for the KCSA program. The position involves living in the same residence hall as the KCSA peer mentors and first-year KCSA students and coordinating communication between the HEOP KCSA program and campus resources. KCSA Peer Mentor Essential Responsibilities: Provide overnight support for KCSA students. (Daily, 5pm – 8:30am) Submit daily reports to the HEOP professional staff and if needed, alert professional staff to situations that need immediate attention. Create strong relationships and communication with the community assistants and other on-campus residents living in the same residence hall as the KCSA program. Assist with facilitating student arrival and move-in of KCSA students. Inform KCSA students of campus policies and procedures. Refer mentees to campus support services as needed and immediately report critical issues to the HEOP staff. Provide oversight to nightly study tables Model appropriate academic and social attitudes and behaviors. Maintain professional communication with the HEOP Staff, including attending staff meetings/training sessions, and contribute to the KCSA program improvement efforts. Submit accurate and punctual attendance records, time sheets, and other paperwork. Check Keuka College email daily and use Keuka College communication tools as instructed by the HEOP staff. Always maintain a professional and courteous attitude towards co-workers, internal and external customers, representing Keuka College, its programs, policies, and procedures in a positive and professional manner. Maintain effective working relationships to ensure institution-wide teamwork. Attend provided/necessary training and other meetings to support effectiveness within the position as required. Live in the residence halls during the duration of KCSA and be available and on call during the overnight hours. Adhere to the same program guidelines as the KCSA students. Consistently demonstrate high standards of integrity by supporting the Keuka College mission, vision, and values and adhering to institutional policies. Maintain a high regard for student privacy in accordance with the FERPA privacy policies and procedures. Regular and reliable attendance is expected and required. Perform other functions assigned by HEOP staff. Minimum Qualifications for all Student Leader positions : Evening and weekend hours required. Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs. Must be a rising junior or senior enrolled at Keuka College at the time of employment. Must maintain good student conduct standing. Good academic standing (minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5) Exhibits a desire to facilitate other students’ transition to college and address student needs. Has the ability and desire to work with the diverse population of Keuka College student peers. Exhibits strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. Ability to be sensitive to and respond to needs/concerns of students, faculty, College staff and the public.
