          "text": "<p><strong>Scope of Position:</strong> You should have the ability to develop opportunities in the various aspects of customs from our Canadian and international offices. You must be comfortable working closely with clients, staff, the CBSA and other government agencies. Strong communication skills will be required to be able achieve your goals with clients, the government and the team.</p><p>Classify our clients’ products using a working knowledge and demonstrated ability to properly navigate and interpret the Harmonized Tariff System. You must possess the ability to read, understand and apply the general rules of interpretation (GRI’s), section &amp; chapter notes and have a good understanding of Customs' rulings, including Customs' ruling database.</p><p>&#xa0;</p><p>The Senior Consultant will need to understand import valuation and the trade agreements that Canada is a party to. They will need to have the ability to manage their projects and work closely with the team to complete the projects within the requited time limits.</p><p>&#xa0;</p><p>Major Duties and Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Harmonized Tariff Schedule classification of imported products</li><li>Researching and interpreting Customs rulings for HS classification determination</li><li>Research OGA, ADD/CVD, Quota/Permit requirements</li><li>Effectively use reference sources, such as the HS Tariff schedule and Explanatory Notes</li><li>Prepare, submit and manage binding classification ruling requests to the CBSA.</li><li>Working knowledge of Customs Valuation and its interpretation.</li><li>Understanding of international trade agreements</li><li>Understanding of Canadian export regulations</li><li>Understanding of and experience working within the CBSA CARM Client Portal</li><li>Communicating with domestic and international clients’ offices, building and maintaining strong internal and external relationships</li><li>Corresponding with the CBSA.</li><li>Active participation in the sales process including attending meetings with clients.</li><li>Prepare and deliver presentations and reports to management, peers and clients</li><li>Mentor and guide junior team members.</li><li>Meet company standard of 52 hours of training per year</li><li>Be dedicated to the success of Tradewin using ethical business practices at all times</li></ul><p><strong>Reporting Structure:&#xa0;</strong>The Senior Consultant, in most cases, would report to the Manager or Principal.</p>",
