At a minimum, the Board shall require that nursing schools and nursing programs be accredited by a Board-recognized national nursing accrediting agency. The Board shall also recommend to the Mayor rules governing the procedures for withdrawing approval of nursing education programs and training programs for nursing assistive personnel.</p><p><strong>Commission membership:&#160;</strong></p><p>The Board&#160; shall consist of 13 members, as follows:<br>- 4 registered nurses<br>- 2 practical nurses<br>- 1 nursing home administrator, assisted living administrator, or home health care administrator<br>- 1 nursing assistive personnel&#160;<br>- 3 members licensed, registered, or certified under this Board (registered nurses, advanced practice registered nurses, practical nurses, or nursing assistive personnel)<br>- 2 consumer members</p><p><strong>Qualifications:&#160;&#160;</strong></p><p>The professional members must be licensed to practice in the District. Each professional member shall have been engaged in the practice for at least 3 years preceding appointment.
