Collins Engineers, Inc. is looking for a motivated, self-starter to join our Norwood, Massachusetts, office as a Construction Engineering Project Manager . This role will provide the opportunity to work on a variety of construction engineering projects for local contractors such as temporary work trestle, erection plans, demolition plans, support of excavation, shoring, cribbing, control of water, and steel or concrete structural repairs. This position offers creative individuals the space to thrive. It allows for the chance to take ownership of your projects, push for new ideas and new ways of doing things, and to obtain the resources needed to follow through on your plans.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
Independently performs moderately difficult engineering computations involving conventional engineering practices.
Lead the planning, analysis, and delivery of construction engineering projects such as temporary work trestle, erection plans, demolition plans, shoring, cribbing, support of excavation, control of water, etc. in accordance with project requirements.
Manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, QA/QC processes, and team coordination.
Serve as the primary client contact for contractors, MassDOT, MBTA, municipalities, and stakeholders.
Prepares complete engineering plans or reports.
Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
Is active in technical societies such as ASCE, AISC, CMAA. WTS, AREMA, etc.
Responsible for moderately difficult engineering projects in field or office in accordance with plans and specifications.
Participate in proposal writing, fee development, and client interviews.
Works directly with clients.
Responsible for project schedules and timely completion of projects.
Monitors project budgets.
Oversee and review calculations, reports, and memorandums.
Ensures accurate client billings and monitors outstanding accounts receivable.
Assists in proposal preparation, project scoping, estimating project costs, project planning, and project quality.
Is available to attend meetings or events outside of normal working hours.
Directs and supervises the work of entry-level engineers, technicians, drafters and administrative staff.
Actively observes and acts in an appropriate manner related to safety.
Ensures that staff needing specialized training in health and safety procedures and practices receives such training and that safety is discussed as an important aspect of their work.
Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree and/or master’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited four-year university.
A minimum of 10 years’ experience in construction engineering or management and the desire to expand or grow experience your project management and client management experience
Knowledge of MassDOT Bridge Manual, AASHTO LRFD, and permitting standards.
Proficiency with structural analysis softwares (STAAD, RISA 3D, Shoring Suite, LPile) and CAD tools (Autodesk, Civil 3D, MicroStation)
Communication, leadership, and business development skills.
Professional Engineer (P.E.) certification required.
Valid driver’s license.
