Our owners are proud Utahns.</strong></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><u>Job Summary</u></strong>: Under limited supervision from the foreman, the Field Mechanic is responsible for performing complex diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on heavy equipment and DOT-regulated trucks. </p>\n<p>Also required perform maintenance to keep the scales calibrated and certified with the state of Utah.</p>\n<p>This journeyman-level role also includes performing field service calls and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>Duties and Responsibilities</u></strong>:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Visualize, fulfill, and implement the company vision and core values.</li>\n <li>Perform duties of a journeyman mechanic.</li>\n <li>Diagnose, rebuild, and repair vehicles and equipment.</li>\n <li>Conduct electrical diagnostics and repairs on complex systems.</li>\n <li>Perform welding, cutting, and fabrication tasks.</li>\n <li>Respond to major road calls and perform field repairs.</li>\n <li>Operate service truck equipped with tools, parts, and diagnostic equipment.</li>\n <li>Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on fleet vehicles and equipment.</li>\n <li>Maintain accurate service records and reports.</li>\n <li>Operate forklifts and heavy equipment as needed.</li>\n <li>Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.</li>\n <li>Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and union contracts.</li>\n <li>Maintain an insurable driving record.</li>\n <li>Promote and maintain a safe and healthful work environment.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>Education and/or Experience</u></strong>:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>High school diploma or GED required.</li>\n <li>Minimum of 2 years journeyman mechanic experience; 2-year diesel mechanic certificate preferred.</li>\n <li>CDL and DOT medical card required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</u></strong>:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Strong commitment to safety and teamwork.</li>\n <li>Ability to work long hours and lift up to 50 lbs.</li>\n <li>Skilled in operating and repairing heavy equipment.</li>\n <li>Extensive knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical systems.</li>\n <li>Proficient in welding, fabrication, and fueling systems.</li>\n <li>Familiarity with towing, recovery, lifting, and rigging procedures.</li>\n <li>Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and technical documents.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>Physical Demands:</u> </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Sitting: 20% | Standing: 85% | Driving: 15%</li>\n <li>Frequent kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying heavy objects.</li>\n <li>Must be able to hear and communicate effectively in noisy environments.</li>\n <li>Exposure to hazardous equipment, weather conditions, and varying lighting environments.</li>\n <li>Working Conditions: 80% of time will be spent working in the pit and field working environment.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><u>Training and Development: </u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>New Employee Orientation</li>\n <li>Defensive Driving</li>\n <li>Customer Service</li>\n <li>MSHA Safety Training</li>\n <li>Brake Repair Certification</li>\n <li>Fall Protection</li>\n <li>Lock Out/Tag Out</li>\n <li>Confined Space Entry</li>\n <li>Forklift Certification</li>\n <li>HCSS E360</li>\n <li>Microsoft D365</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>*Physical Demands /Safety are dependent on location of position.
