Partner with the best As a Network Engineer II, you will lead efforts in designing and implementing a global network infrastructure. You'll play a key role in developing operational standards while addressing complex issues in routing and data center fabrics. Your work will ensure scalability, reliability, and security across a multi-vendor environment. As a Network Engineer II, you will be responsible for: Designing, building, and maintaining our global network infrastructure. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define data models and functional requirements. Configuring BGP and troubleshooting for complex peering relationships Implementing new hardware platforms and network features within the automation framework. Acting as a subject matter expert and final point of escalation for production network issues. Creating and maintaining clear documentation & procedures. Do what you love To be successful in this role you will: Have 5 years relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or its equivalent experience Demonstrate experience in IP network design and implementation of scalable BGP routing architecture. Understand Data Center architecture, including CLOS Fabric and overlay technologies such as VxLAN and EVPN. Have experience in managing and troubleshooting multi-vendor environments like Juniper, Cisco & routing platforms like BIRD, FRR and Cumulus. Demonstrate an understanding of end-to-end data flows and traffic patterns Be a highly organized self-starter who is comfortable working with cross-functional teams Work in a way that works for you FlexBase, Akamai's Global Flexible Working Program, is based on the principles that are helping us create the best workplace in the world.
