JOB TITLE: Sales Representative, Building Materials
JOB LOCATION: Reports to Grand Junction, Colorado with target sales area of Montrose, Gunnison, and Delta county
FUNCTION: The Sales Representative, Building Materials is primarily responsible for maintenance of current customer base, soliciting new business, establishing good relations with contractors, city, and state purchasing employees, selling the company products, and sales collections.
REPORTING TO: Location Manager II, Building Materials in Grand Junction, Colorado SALARY: $45,000 - $55,000 + Commission
KEY ACTIVITIES:
Visualizes, fulfils, and implements the company vision and core values.
Drives new and existing sales of Sunpro products and services.
Describes, presents, and sells company products.
Establish and maintain working relationships with current and prospective customer.
Researches new opportunities, markets and products.
Researches project requirements and determines sales prospects for products.
Establishes prices in the accounting system for products and services.
Quotes prices for products and freight to current and prospective customers.
Prepares and maintains accurate sales, activity, and expense reports.
Monitors customer job progress and accuracy of product tickets and orders.
Performs credit collection on assigned customers.
Assists field labor as needed.
Establishes working relationships with employees that have initial contact with customers.
Works closely with managers to determine customer requirements, coordinate the availability of products, and evaluate costs and pricing.
Maintains an insurable driving record.
Champions safety guidelines and ensures a safe and healthy work environment at all times and performs all duties in compliance with Sunpro safety requirements
Reviews, understands, and adheres to all Sunpro policies and procedures.
Performs all duties in compliance with Sunpro safety requirements.
Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Effective sales and customer service skills.
Strong knowledge of company products and services.
Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) as well as strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
Able to accurately assess customer project and design needs and provide to provide proactive solutions.
Strong computer proficiency with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Highly organized and detail oriented.
High level of professionalism and personal responsibility.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in technical sales, marketing, or related field or equivalent experience.
Years of proven experience in selling millwork and windows, construction or building materials a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Physical Work Requirements - Medium: exerting up to 25 lbs of force regularly.
Regular exposure to the elements.
