    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>Division/Unit:&nbsp;Forensic Accounting and Financial Investigation Bureau</p>\n<p>Civil Service Title: Principal Accountant Investigator</p>\n<p>Position Title:&nbsp;Principal Financial Investigator</p>\n<p>Salary Range:&nbsp;$100,786 - $114,387</p>\n<p><b><u>Job Description:</u></b><br>\n  The New York County District Attorney's Office has an immediate opening for a Principal Financial Investigator in&nbsp;its Forensic Accounting and Financial Investigation Bureau. In this position the Principal Financial Investigator is responsible for assisting Assistant District Attorneys (ADAs) in the compilation and preparation of forensic and financial data for investigations.<br><br><b><u>Responsibilities include but are not limited to:</u></b></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Lead and perform multifaceted confidential financial investigations.</li>\n <li>Prepare analysis of complex financial records pertaining to alleged criminal activity to determine whether or not an offense has occurred.</li>\n <li>Independently develop and research leads to corroborate the accuracy of information obtained.</li>\n <li>Communicate the methodology used to commit the offense and the total financial loss to the victim(s).</li>\n <li>Present results of investigations orally and in writing to ADAs based on the evidence.</li>\n <li>Supervise, manage, and monitor, at times, complex and lengthy investigations.</li>\n <li>Supervise, work with, and oversee junior financial investigators when appropriate.</li>\n <li>Testify at Hearings, Grand Jury proceedings and Trials.</li>\n <li>Assist in the execution of search warrants, conduct interviews of victims, witnesses, informants, and alleged defendants.</li>\n <li>Perform related duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><b><u>In addition to the Minimum Qualification Requirements, candidates must possess the following:&nbsp;</u></b></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Four (4) additional years of relevant accounting experience, which will equal to a minimum of twelve (12) years.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><b><u>Preferred Requirements/Skills:</u></b></p>\n<ul>\n <li>CFE preferred.</li>\n <li>Proficiency in Microsoft applications&nbsp;(Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).</li>\n <li>Prior experience supervising in-depth investigations and teams of financial investigators.</li>\n <li>Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and investigative skills.</li>\n <li>Must communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.</li>\n <li>Ability to work efficiently to meet deadlines.</li>\n <li>Must be a self-starter and possess the ability to work independently.</li>\n <li>Strong attention to detail and high concern for data accuracy.</li>\n <li>Dependable team player who works collaboratively and cooperatively with staff in a team-oriented environment.</li>\n <li>Must be able to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment, detail oriented and self-motivated and able to multi-task.</li>\n <li>Ability to interact with all levels of staff and other law enforcement agencies.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><b><u>How to Apply:</u></b></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Apply with a Cover Letter and Resume.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><b><u>Hours/Shift:&nbsp;</u></b></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><b><u>Additional Information:&nbsp;</u></b></p>\n<ul>\n <li><b>Current office employees:</b>&nbsp;To be eligible for a transfer or promotion, staff must have already served at least one (1) year in their current unit/bureau/department and be in good standing.
