    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Element Edmonton has an opportunity for a <strong>Chemistry Technician (3rd Shift: Seasonal)</strong> for testing, sample preparation and delivery/collection of samples and preparation of test reports. This is a 3rd shift role, and will run until December 31st 2026. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p></p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Collect client samples according to the LIMS generated batch sheet and analyze, maintaining high standards of analytical quality.</li>\n <li>Perform analysis as documented in the test method</li>\n <li>Interpret and validate results and data.</li>\n <li>Prepare reagents and standards.</li>\n <li>Perform regular equipment maintenance and advise team leader when equipment is not functioning.</li>\n <li>Input results into LIMS.</li>\n <li>Clean glassware as specified in the test method.</li>\n <li>Maintain equipment maintenance log and reagent preparation log.</li>\n <li>Request supplies and consumables in advance of requirement by recording needed items in order book.</li>\n <li>Train new staff in test methods</li>\n <li>Follow the Quality System as documented in the Quality Manual.</li>\n <li>General duties as directed by the team leader or operations manager</li>\n <li>Analyze, verify and approve client test data</li>\n <li>Complete client sample analysis within specified turn around time (TAT)</li>\n <li>Strict adherence to the corporate Quality System</li>\n <li>Perform test methods as documented</li>\n <li>Maintain a clean and safe work environment; comply with all rules and responsibilities as outlined under the corporate Health and Safety Policy</li>\n <li>Work with trainees until approval of trainees demonstrated competence is documented</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Skills / Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Post-secondary education in chemistry or other science related field or high school diploma with related experience• On The Job Training Required:o Quality System Trainingo WHMIS/Safety Trainingo LIMS Operation Trainingo LMS - Sample Reception Procedures</li>\n <li>Understanding and ability to implement sample receiving procedures; understanding and utilizing field terminology</li>\n <li>Effective communication skills</li>\n <li>Knowledge of service codes and chemical preservative</li>\n <li>Proficient in LIMS applications</li>\n <li>Organization skills</li>\n <li>Knowledge of correct sample storage conditions</li>\n <li>Knowledge of what analysis location cannot perform and where to sublet sample</li>\n <li>Knowledge of storage equipment temperature range</li>\n <li>Knowledge of laboratory safety practices</li>\n <li>Knowledge of service fees and provide receipt</li>\n <li>Knowledge of supply levels and ordering process</li>\n <li>Technical knowledge of test methods</li>\n <li>Knowledge of the Quality System with the ability to interpret and implement Quality Manual</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Physical Demands:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Frequency of required physical force: Minimum (moderate).</li>\n <li>Lifting requirements: lifting <50 lbs. often and > 50 lbs. on occasion</li>\n <li>Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time</li>\n <li>Ability to lift 50+lbs periodically</li>\n</ul>\n<p>#LI-TK1</p>\n<h2>Diversity Statement</h2>\n<p>At Element, we always take pride in putting our people first.
