Their primary focus will be in the development and delivery of outreach programs geared towards reproductive health awareness, healthy relationships, and self-empowerment.</p><p><br></p><p><u><strong>Essential Functions</strong></u></p><p><strong>Needs Assessment</strong></p><ul><li>Outreach &amp; Education Specialist conducts an assessment to identify needs, presents available options, which could be programs or services, and determines appropriate follow-up.</li></ul><p><strong>Program Development &amp; Delivery</strong></p><ul><li>In the area of education, the Outreach &amp; Education Specialist identifies, designs and presents programs that meet the educational needs of the community: healthy relationships, safe sex, birth control, teen pregnancy, etc.</li><li>Participates in community events: health fairs, school and college presentations, community organizations, etc.</li><li>Ensures proper documentation is written for client records, annual and funder reports, etc.</li><li>Aids and/or refers youth to obtain comprehensive family planning services, health services or other essential support services as identified.</li><li>Is aware of annual goals and objectives of the organization and participates in their attainment by focusing on the education and counseling needs of our clients and patients (sensitivity and diversity training, etc.)</li><li>As needed, may develop and present in-service programs to other PPCWNY staff</li></ul><p><strong>Committee Participation</strong></p><ul><li>Attends and works on various organization committees as requested</li><li>Attends community meetings as a representative of the organization, as required</li></ul><p><strong>Other Accountability Activities</strong></p><ul><li>Completes required reporting accurately and timely as designated</li><li>Participates in the annual update of all reference materials used in the Education and Clinic areas (flyers, brochures, referral lists, operation procedure manuals, etc.) to ensure consistency</li><li>Participates in affiliate initiatives</li><li>Participates in programs to ensure that cross training occurs leading to support of the clinic, as needed (pre- and post-HIV counseling)</li><li>Works on other projects as assigned</li></ul>",
