Job Title: Senior Quality Engineer Exempt Status: Exempt Location: Cheshire, CT Company Description: Hanwha Aerospace USA has long been recognized as a leader in the development and supply of flight critical Aerospace/Defense components and assemblies. Summary: This challenging position is a great opportunity for the right candidate to become a part of a dedicated team of aerospace manufacturing professionals. This position will be responsible for performing general engineering tasks that are associated with the Quality function. Essential Functions: Attend the Daily Production Meetings to ensure daily shipping schedules are adhered to. Design and implement SPC and other Quality Systems. Perform analysis of data utilizing Minitab Develop and coordinate a Process Capability Program. Perform Gage studies (GR&R, Bias, etc.) and Process Capability studies as required Assist in Continuous Improvement Programs. Analyze and interpret trends and execute improvements on key metrics. Assist Engineering in the development of product and process specifications. Maintain the NCMR system as well as assist, as required, in the Management Review Board process. Ensure all products meet specification requirements and only compliant products move onto the next processing stage. Assist in the Corrective Action process as needed. Assist other departments in the completion of their Corrective Actions. Verify corrective actions for effectiveness and timeliness of completion. Conduct root-cause analysis, corrective / preventive actions and implement continuous improvement. Assist in PPAP, VSE or other customer specific product approval processes as required. Performs First Article Inspections and creates reports. Attend customer DQSR training as required. Drive robust RCCA process with real time daily stand up Quality reviews, Elephant chart non-conformance tracking and SPC data collection / actions Drive / support process improvements with on-time reporting of Quality KPI’s - driving YOY improvements in quality performance Manage all aspects of the Quality Planning / NPI / FAI process in line with the Quality NPI tracker to ensure on-time and completeness of Quality NPI requirements Perform other related duties or responsibilities as required Required Qualifications & Experience: Must be a “U.S. Person” as defined by the U.S. Government and able to work without restrictions with ITAR related data Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering or other related field 5+ years of experience as an Engineer in a Manufacturing environment (Aerospace preferred) Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Must be able to read, write, understand, and speak English at a functional level Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel) Ability to work with CAD systems (Solidworks, NX) Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of the organization Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and standard business practices Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering work instructions Must have strong attention to detail Ability to travel domestically – 10% max Physical Demands / Work Capacity Evaluation The essential functions of this position may vary based on specific assignments, work locations, and operational needs.
