Our services include preconstruction modeling, structural design, steel and rebar detailing, connection design and stair engineering, and BIM management. We work on complex, fast-paced projects and value practical problem-solving, collaboration, and real-world construction knowledge.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We are looking for a seasoned professional who will be <span>responsible for leading a team of engineers focused on <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">structural connection design and stair engineering</span>. This role ensures high-quality, code-compliant, and fabrication-ready design while driving <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">efficiency, standardization, and collaboration</span> across engineering, detailing, and project teams.</span> JMT Consultants Inc. is expanding, and we're eager to welcome an enthusiastic professional to enhance our dedicated team where we value precision, efficiency, quality, and a keen eye for detail.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\">What You’ll Do:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead a team of engineers through the delivery of steel connection design projects, ensuring compliance with applicable codes (AISC, CISC, CSA) and optimizing for constructability, cost, and quality.</li>\n<li>Manage and mentor a team of engineers, supporting their development, performance, and resource allocation across multiple projects.</li>\n<li>Drive the adoption of engineering tools and standardization of processes, including QA/QC and workflow improvements between engineering and detailing.</li>\n<li>Collaborate closely with internal teams and external stakeholders (detailers, fabricators, EORs) to resolve design challenges and ensure alignment between design intent and fabrication.</li>\n<li>Oversee project execution, including schedules, budgets, RFIs, and revisions, while supporting project management efforts.</li>\n<li>Maintain awareness of industry standards and market requirements, particularly across Canadian and U.S. projects.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\">Requirements:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (master’s preferred).</li>\n<li>Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation / ability to pursue PE stamp in the USA.</li>\n<li>8–12+ years of experience in structural engineering, with strong emphasis on steel connection design.</li>\n<li>Previous experience in a lead or supervisory role is highly preferred.</li>\n<li>Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.</li>\n<li>Must be based in Winnipeg or willing to relocate.</li>\n<li>Valid passport and able to travel to USA.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\">What Makes You Stand Out</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Deep knowledge of structural connection design, load paths and structural systems.</span></li>\n<li><span>Strong experience with: Idea StatiCa, RAM Connection, RISA Suite, Tekla Structures and/or Revit (preferred for coordination understanding).</span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Familiarity with fabrication and erection practices. </span></li>\n<li><span>Proven ability to lead and mentor technical teams. </span></li>\n<li><span>Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. </span></li>\n<li><span>Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders. </span></li>\n<li><span>Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. </span></li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold\">Why Work for JMT Consultants?
