You will work at 7102 Mineral Point Road in Madison, WI.</p><p><strong><u>Pay:</u></strong></p><ul><li>External hires may be eligible for up to a $5000.00 sign on bonus.&nbsp;</li><li>This person is eligible for a $8.00 per hour weekender differential in addition to their base rate of pay.</li></ul><p><strong>Be part of something remarkable</strong></p><p>Join the #1 hospital in Wisconsin to play an essential role in the quality and safety of patient care by providing accurate diagnostic and treatment information.</p><p>We are seeking a <strong>Medical Lab Technician (MLT) Weekender - Generalist</strong> to:</p><ul><li>Perform and verify patient testing, proficiency testing and QC. Troubleshoot when necessary as a scientist.</li><li>Demonstrate decision-making skills, ability to work independently, and the ability to take on teaching/training responsibilities as needed.</li><li>Perform phlebotomy, process specimens for testing/transport, provide patient instructions and answer provider questions as needed.</li></ul><p><strong><u>Qualifications</u></strong></p><ul><li>Associate's Degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology Required or&nbsp;</li><li>Education and training equivalent to an associate degree to include 60 semester hours including either 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses or</li><li>24 semester hours of science courses Required</li><li>Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology Preferred</li><li>Bachelor's Degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical, or biological science Preferred</li></ul><p><strong><u>Work Experience</u></strong></p><ul><li>1 year experience as Medical Laboratory Technician or relevant laboratory experience Preferred</li></ul><p><strong><u>Licenses &amp; Certifications</u></strong></p><ul><li>Certification Medical Laboratory Technician by the board of American Society of Clinical Pathologists or similar agency Preferred</li></ul><p><strong>Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion</strong><br>UW Health is committed to being a diverse, equitable, inclusive and anti-racist workplace and is an Equal Employment Opportunity, Affirmative Action employer.
