    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>As a 2nd Shift Production Supervisor, you will be the first line leader to support team members within your area/zone.  You will be responsible for coordinating day-to-day activities in order to maintain scheduled production requirements and to ensure your team is successful. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>  </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><em>Primary duties:</em></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Demonstrate a core value of respectful treatment of all team members in every discussion, interaction, and decision.</li>\n <li>Create an environment that empowers team members and drives continuous improvement in a team environment focused on safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency.</li>\n <li>Lead continuous improvement efforts to eliminate waste and develop team member skills to improve lean operations.</li>\n <li>Provide support, coaching, and training to the team leaders under your supervision.</li>\n <li>Ensure team leaders are properly trained within 12 months.</li>\n <li>Ensure that team members are properly trained by their team leader or other designated trainer in their areas of responsibility, including safety, quality, equipment operation, and 5S.</li>\n <li>Ensure team members are tracked on the team member training matrix.</li>\n <li>Establish annual goals and objectives that support the attainment of operating metrics.</li>\n <li>Serve as the first point of contact for employees regarding employee relations issues.</li>\n <li>Interface with union stewards on contract and discipline issues.</li>\n <li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Knowledge/Experience/Education: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>A minimum of 1 to 3 years of supervisory experience in a medium/high volume, fast-paced manufacturing environment is preferred.</li>\n <li>Manufacturing Engineering or Operations is preferred.</li>\n <li>Proven history of ability to lead with a servant leadership mindset.</li>\n <li>Previous professional, internship or co-op experience will be taken into consideration as relevant experience.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Skills and Abilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be self-driven and ambitious with proven leadership capabilities, including providing coaching, mentoring and supervision within a team environment.</li>\n <li>Proficient with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel).</li>\n <li>Strong problem solving skills, including encouraging others on your team to think proactively and create solutions.</li>\n <li>Basic understanding of process control, production scheduling, Kaizen, Kanban and Lean manufacturing is preferred.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> <strong>Physical Requirements:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Stooping, bending, standing for long periods of time, manual dexterity and able to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Knowledge/Experience/Education</strong>:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Previous experience working in Fabrication,  Metal Stamping, Machining, or Welding preferred. </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>EEO</h2>We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
