    "description": "<h2>Job Description</h2>\n<p></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Step into your new role!</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>As an <strong>Entry Level Construction Materials Engineering and Testing (CoMET) Technician </strong>you will be exposed and trained to perform routine quality control test procedures on commercial, industrial, public and private construction projects from the ground up. <strong>No experience required!</strong> We are committed to investing in our team members and will provide training and advancement opportunities through technician certification programs. <strong>Three openings </strong>for this position are available<strong> in Owings Mills, MD area. Technicians will require reliable transportation to access job sites within a two-hour radius of office location. </strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>Once trained you will be able to:</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Read and understand applicable construction plans and specifications</li>\n <li>Perform Field Observations and Materials Sampling/Testing during Construction of Buildings, Bridges and Roadways.</li>\n <li>Perform testing on construction materials including Soils, Reinforcing Steel, Concrete, Compaction grouting, Masonry, Structural Steel, Fireproofing, Metal Decking, Roofing and Paving. </li>\n <li>Write Daily Field Reports documenting work performed by the various contractors and indicating compliance/non-compliance with contract documents, plans and specifications.</li>\n <li>Cast Field Samples of Concrete, Masonry, Grout, etc. for strength verification.</li>\n <li>Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and other design professionals</li>\n <li>Provide daily or milestone updates to Department Manager</li>\n <li>Pick-up construction material samples and deliver to laboratory, deliver equipment to site technicians.</li>\n <li>Actively participate and demonstrate commitment to Kleinfelder’s Health and Safety culture.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><u>Certification/Registration:</u></strong></p>\n<p>Kleinfelder requires our technicians to acquire the following certifications within first 6 months of employment – at our expense.</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Nuclear Density Gage Certification, ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician Grade I or, Local Jurisdiction</li>\n <li>Equivalent to ACI, as required by local jurisdiction and local management team</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><u>Requirements and Qualifications:</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to work independently and as a team member, maintain composure, and work effectively in a high-pressure environment with changing priorities.</li>\n <li>Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.</li>\n <li>Ability to use a company provided laptop or iPad and a working knowledge of MS Office programs (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).</li>\n <li>Authorization to work in the United States</li>\n <li>Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and ability to pass drug test.</li>\n <li>High School Diploma or equivalent.</li>\n <li>Bend, stoop, and lift up-to 50 pounds (22.68 kg) repetitively and over 50 pounds (22.68 kg) using handling equipment (hand truck, etc.).</li>\n <li>Ability to operate heavy equipment as necessary (i.e., ultrasonic non-destructive testing machine, concrete cylinder press, etc.).</li>\n <li>Ability to maintain safe mobility over construction obstacles by foot and ladder, traversing over rough broken ground and steep surfaces.</li>\n <li>Ability to work outside in variable weather at field sites and in labs with various levels of safety protection required. </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong><u>Desired Qualifications</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Construction-related training or technical training desirable </li>\n <li>ACI or ICC certification desired</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Following an offer, candidates will be required to satisfactorily complete employment reference checks, verification of professional licensure and/or educational credentials, a motor vehicle report (MVR), and a comprehensive background check.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong><u>Take Your Construction Career to the Next Level!</u></strong></p>\n<p>If you are ready to be challenged, make a difference, and experience professional growth in your career, WE WANT YOU.
