Description
The University of Tennessee Health Science Center, Department of Medicine Division of Nephrology in Memphis, TN, is seeking candidates for a full-time non-tenure Associate Professor. This position will involve 50% research and teaching and 50% patient care.
Responsibilities
Research responsibilities include working on applying for HIH grants associated with nephrology-related human studies. The goal will be to obtain NIH funding after 2 years of being hired at UT Health Science Center, expected to cover at least 35% of the salary from the NIH grant. This position will mentor some medical students for a research project that link with Nephrology. This position is responsible for holding clinical sessions and inpatient attending duties at clinical practice sites. Supervises Nephrology fellows.
Qualifications
EDUCATION: M.D. Degree.
EXPERIENCE: Demonstrated track record of excellence in patient care, research, peer-reviewed publications, and the potential to serve as a Principal Investigator of cutting-edge clinical trials.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Board-certified or board-eligible in Nephrology is required. Active or eligibility to obtain a Tennessee Medical License.
