This position reports to the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program Director.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Duties &amp; Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Responsibilities include teaching, scholarship, academic and research advising, clinical practice in the pro bono Center for Occupational and Physical Therapy, and service.&nbsp;</li><li>Secure approximately 310 clinical placements each year in collaboration with the co-Director, Clinical Education. These responsibilities are shared equally between the 2 co-directors.&nbsp;</li><li>Develop strong partnerships with community clinics and hospitals to ensure adequate clinical placements.&nbsp;</li><li>Meet with new and existing partners to understand the clinical site and available learning opportunities</li><li>Vet new sites to ensure quality of learning opportunities.</li><li>Collaborate with leadership, including the site coordinator of clinical education to secure clinical placements for student experiences.</li><li>Develop strong collegial relationships with clinical instructors to ensure excellence in teaching in the clinical environment to facilitate student growth and retention.</li><li>Meet regularly with clinical instructors to evaluate student performance.</li><li>Provide support for clinical instructors when students are not meeting performance expectations.</li><li>Support the development of clinical instructors through continuing education and individual consulation.</li><li>Develop strong relationships with students to ensure appropriate support for students while they are on clinical experiences.</li><li>Ensure adequate student learning.</li><li>Help students resolve conflicts with the clinical site or clinical instructor.</li><li>Develop learning plans for students who are struggling.</li><li>Develop remediation plans for students who fail clinical experiences.</li><li>Develop clinical education experiences for students who are on decelerated academic plans.</li><li>Develop a strong collegial relationship with the co-director of clinical education to ensure all job responsibilities are met for the clinical placement of students.&nbsp;</li><li>Develop strong collegial relationships with core physical therapy faculty to assess student performance including readiness for clinical education and performance while on clinical experiences.</li><li>Develop strong collegial relationships with administrative support personnel within the PT department.</li><li>Work collaborative with departments and personnel who support clinical education at the university including, but not limited to the ASHS Office of Clinical Affairs.</li><li>Gather, manage and analyze data that contributes to accreditation reports and maintenance.&nbsp;</li></ul>",
