ABOUT THE ROLE We’re looking for a Graphic Designer to own and elevate how Baselayer looks and feels everywhere it shows up. As one of our first dedicated brand designers, you’ll articulate our visual identity across the website, product marketing, social, sales collateral, events, and investor materials — taking a technical category and making it look as sharp and trustworthy as the product behind it. This is a high-ownership, hands-on role for a designer who wants to set the bar, and ship polished work fast. You’ll partner closely with marketing, product, and leadership to turn complex ideas into clear, beautiful design that helps Baselayer stand out in a crowded, legacy-dominated market. WHAT YOU'LL DO Master and apply Baselayer’s visual brand and design system, ensuring consistency and quality across every touchpoint Design across a wide surface area: web page design, static graphics design, infographic design, marketing campaigns, social content, sales decks, one-pagers, and event and investor materials Translate complex, technical concepts into clear, compelling visuals and data storytelling Partner with marketing and leadership to bring launches, campaigns, and narratives to life Establish and evolve templates, and reusable assets that let the team move faster Raise the creative bar across the company, giving feedback and setting standards for design quality Manage multiple projects and deadlines, shipping high-quality work at startup speed Work with internal stakeholders to transform requests / needs into the envisioned / scoped deliverables MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 2+ years of graphic or brand design experience, with a portfolio that demonstrates range and polish Expert command of the design toolkit (Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Flora) Motion, illustration, and/or short-form video skills Strong foundation in typography, layout, color, and brand systems Experience designing across digital and print: web, social, presentations, and marketing collateral Ability to take projects from concept to finished asset independently Ability to leverage AI to automate your workflow or expand how we are able to create something WHAT SETS YOU APART Experience in fintech, B2B, or technical categories Experience designing data visualizations and turning numbers into clear stories You’re proactive, opinionated about craft, and motivated to build something that lasts WORK LOCATION Based in NYC; part-time, 20+ hours per week COMPENSATION Hourly Rate: $30 - $50 / hr
