This is a full-time, 12-month or 9-month, staff position with the following expectations:</p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Lead three to four clinical days per week at external clinical sites to support pre-licensure clinical academic courses.</li><li>Facilitate professional relationships with all members of the health care team within the clinical setting.</li><li>Model professional behavior above the spectrum of preconference, clinical, post conference and lab.</li><li>Foster critical thinking to complete care for patient assignments.</li><li>Provide clear expectations of outcomes to students within the clinical group.</li><li>Provide constructive feedback throughout the clinical experience.</li><li>Identify student deficits and report them to course faculty in a timely manner.</li><li>Assesses feasibility of successful clinical completion at clinical site assigned.</li><li>Collaborate with course faculty and the Director of Simulation Experience to fulfill clinical support and educational needs in the Nursing Education and Simulation Center.</li><li>Collaborate with clinical course faculty and Director of Simulation Experience to fulfill simulation program outcomes.</li><li>Collaborate with Undergraduate and Accelerated Second Degree Program Directors to assist with teaching needs in the prelicensure courses.</li></ul><p><strong><br>&nbsp;Requirements:</strong></p><p><strong><u>Required Qualifications</u></strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Master&#39;s degree in Nursing</li><li>Current Connecticut RN license (valid as of date of hire);</li><li>Two or more years of clinical experience in an acute care setting</li><li>Two or more years of experience teaching undergraduate students in clinical settings such as acute and skilled care facilities, community settings, pediatric care institutions including schools and/or behavioral health clinical settings</li><li>Experience evaluating student performance in clinical training settings</li><li>Experience managing and directing group clinical training for students in baccalaureate nursing programs</li><li>Experience developing effective working relationships with hospitals, clinics, and other community partners</li><li>Excellent communication skills and interpersonal relationship strategies</li><li>Commitment to the Mission and Vision of the University of Saint Joseph and the Department of Nursing</li><li>Physical ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Experience working with students in an accelerated nursing entry program</li><li>Previous classroom teaching experience in an institution of higher education</li><li>Current experience with direct patient care in clinical settings such as acute and skilled care facilities, community settings, pediatric care institutions including schools and/or behavioral health clinical settings</li><li>Experience with a wide-range of educational strategies, including virtual and in-person simulation</li><li>Experience with telehealth technologies</li></ul><strong><br>&nbsp;Additional Information:</strong><br><p>The final offer will be based on the successful candidate&#39;s qualification, experience and whether the position is12-month or 9-month.&nbsp;</p><p><strong><br>&nbsp;Application Instructions:</strong></p><p>Persons interested in the above position should apply online. &nbsp;Please submit: &nbsp;</p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Resume/Curriculum Vitae</li><li>Cover Letter including interest in either the 12-month or 9-month position</li><li>Three current professional references (contact information only, there is a section on the employment application to include this information)</li></ul></td></tr></tbody></table></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>\n",
