  "key_responsibilities": "<div><!--block-->The Junior Marine Systems Engineer is responsible for professionally and efficiently executing work in support of client taskings in the field of Marine Systems Engineering.<br><br>Responsibilities and Tasks include:&nbsp;</div><ul><li><!--block-->Support Marine Systems department in providing engineering services to internal and external customers.&nbsp;</li><li><!--block-->Participate in technical work under the guidance of senior staff members.&nbsp;</li><li><!--block-->Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.&nbsp; &nbsp;</li><li><!--block-->Comply with relevant business and ethics codes of conduct. &nbsp;</li><li><!--block-->Undertake engineering activities in a way that contributes to best practice under the guidance of senior staff members.&nbsp;</li><li><!--block-->Work within the BMT Quality Management System (QMS) processes and procedures.&nbsp;</li><li><!--block-->Demonstrate willingness and active adoption of coaching and mentoring provided by senior staff in developing technical competency within specific discipline.&nbsp; &nbsp;</li><li><!--block-->Contributes to building a positive team culture through input, feedback and participation in team building and wellness activities. &nbsp;</li></ul><div><!--block-->Role Specific:&nbsp;</div><ul><li><!--block-->Apply basic knowledge and understanding of Marine / Mechanical design on small simple platforms (tug, barge, ferry) to large complex ships (surface combatants, submarines, cargo and passenger vessels) in one or more areas:&nbsp;</li><li><!--block-->Component selection;&nbsp;</li><li><!--block-->Equipment arrangement;&nbsp;</li><li><!--block-->Propulsion and Auxiliary systems;&nbsp;</li><li><!--block-->Application of standards for pumps, valves, flanges, and piping;&nbsp;</li><li><!--block-->Heat/Cooling load calculations; and&nbsp;</li><li><!--block-->Metallurgical considerations.&nbsp;</li><li><!--block-->As part of a team, contribute to working with Shipyards, Dockyards, Owners, Class and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) to conduct ship surveys for design and engineering changes, mid-life upgrades and vessel condition documentation.&nbsp;</li><li><!--block-->Support the development of feasibility studies, concept designs, installation design and integration of new and replacement equipment, including communicating design outputs using 2D drawings or 3D models.&nbsp;</li><li><!--block-->Gain familiarization of domain specific standards including International Maritime Organization (IMO) regulations, Class Society rules, Transport Canada Regulations and Canadian Forces Technical Orders.&nbsp;</li></ul>",
