Location: Bridgewater Compensation: $51.06-66.50/hour Hours: 70 hours biweekly Start Date: ASAP End Date: N/A Closing Date: Open until filled Audiologist Bridgewater Hearing and Speech Nova Scotia (HSNS) provides audiology services to Nova Scotians of all ages, and speech-language pathology services to preschool children and adults. HSNS is funded by the NS Government to deliver integrated and standardized provincial services across 37 clinical sites, located in 26 communities. Nationally certified Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists, with support from Communication Disorder Technicians and Administrative Support Professionals, provide core services (prevention, diagnosis, and treatment), develop and monitor provincial clinical standards, and collaborate with partners to deliver a number of special programs (e.g., Autism, Stroke, Cochlear Implant). Established in 1963, HSNS works to prevent and reduce the impact of communication disorders for Nova Scotians. The home base is Bridgewater (South Shore Regional Hospital). The successful candidate reports to the assigned Manager. Schedule to be determined. Requirements: -Master's Degree in Audiology -Nova Scotia College of Audiologists & Speech-Language Pathologists (NSCASLP) licensure or eligible for licensure -Effective communication skills, including proficiency in written and spoken English. If English is not your first language further documents will be required. -Flexibility in work schedule to provide evening/weekend services -Flexibility to travel on occasion to attend continuing education, events and/or meetings -Candidate will have to demonstrate current immunization and/or boosters at the end of the probationary period -Experience with provision of audiological diagnostic and management procedures in acute and outpatient settings -Knowledge of discipline specific best practices in screening, diagnostic and rehabilitative audiologic services -Experience with hearing aid verification and validation -Knowledge of discipline specific best practices in assessment and early intervention of young children with developmental disabilities -Demonstrated commitment to family-centered care -Ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of clients and professionals Assets: -Experience working with interprofessional clinical teams and/or working with supportive personnel -1 years of experience with vestibular testing -Two years of clinical experience within the last 5 years with Audiology assessment and rehabilitation -Experience with provision of services via telepractice -Experience in providing student supervision -Occupational Health & Safety training -Ability to communicate in multiple languages in a clinical setting -Lived experience with a communication difference -Able to start immediately Note – All offers of employment will be conditional upon results of a criminal records check/vulnerable sector search and child abuse registry search, all to be satisfactory to the employer.
