&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;</strong>ALB</p><p><strong>AIRPORT: &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</strong>Albany International Airport</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>SUMMARY</strong></p><p>Performs a wide variety of tasks involved in repairing and maintaining electric, diesel, and gasoline powered vehicle and equipment by performing the following duties.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES&nbsp;</strong>include the following. &nbsp;Other duties may be assigned.</p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Notifies and coordinates routine and non-routine repairs and maintenance with the Lead Vehicle and Equipment Mechanic.</li><li>Provides Lead Mechanic with lists of items requiring reorder or replacement.</li><li>Read job and/or preventive maintenance orders and observes and listens to vehicles/equipment in operation to determine malfunction and to plan work procedures.</li><li>Performs routine and non-routine inspection and maintenance on Airport vehicles and equipment.</li><li>Disassembles units such as engines, transmissions, or differentials and inspects parts for wear; overhauls and /or replaces engines and transmissions; repairs/recharges or replaces parts such as batteries pistons, rods, gears, valves and bearings; overhauls or replaces carburetors, blowers, generators, distributors, starters and pumps; rebuilds parts such as crankshafts and cylinder blocks; rewires or installs new ignition systems, lights, and instrument panes; relines and adjusts brakes, aligns front ends, repairs or replaces shock absorbers, and solders leaks in radiators; mends damaged body and fender parts; replaces and adjusts headlights and installs and repairs accessories such as radios, heaters, mirrors and windshield wipers; examines protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on vehicles, and makes adjustments; lubricates moving parts and drives repaired vehicles to verify conformance to specifications.&nbsp;</li><li>Inspects tools and equipment on a regular basis to ensure operational safety; attends various training session; performs routine shop keeping duties in order to ensure a safe hazard free work environment.</li><li>Participates in Total Quality Management Programs.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p><p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. &nbsp;The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. &nbsp;Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE</strong></p><p>High school diploma or general education degree (GED); minimum of three years experience in the repair and maintenance of light trucks and diesel equipment. &nbsp;Must be qualified on stick and mig welding; have computer tune up experience and knowledge of fuel injector and hydraulic systems.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>LANGUAGE SKILLS</strong></p><p>Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. &nbsp;Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. &nbsp;Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to suppliers and other employees of the organizations.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>MATHEMATICAL SKILLS</strong></p><p>Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. &nbsp;Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and draw and interpret bar graphs.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>REASONING ABILITY</strong></p><p>Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. &nbsp;
