font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Position Summary</span>:</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #222222; font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">The Prevention Navigator is responsible for supporting the team and community by facilitating and engaging individuals and communities in services and education regarding substance use, sexual health, and behavioral health principles through the engagement of cultural events and other activities that promote healing and recovery for all people.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Duties and Responsibilities</span>:</span></p>\n<ul></ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Develops content in collaboration with the Prevention Services team to support events, awareness days, and observances</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Plans specific cultural activities and events related to prevention</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Identifies opportunities to bring Wabanaki culture into program offerings</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Develops and facilitates cultural groups based on best practices</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Coordinates cultural connection opportunities to support recovery-ready communities initiatives</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Supports with outreach engagements, activities, and opportunities including community clean-up’s, testing, and educational prevention programming</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Maintains training and certifications to support program needs, including CTR (Counseling, Testing, Referral) training through ME CDC to support HIV/HCV testing and linkage to care</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Prepares prevention resources and educational resources on harm reduction and prevention information, opioid overdose prevention, recovery supports and connections, and more in collaboration with team and manager to support identified programmatic needs</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Attends and participates in individual and team check in’s, staff meetings, and meetings as required from grantors or program support</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Collaboration with community and community partners to support programs and services</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Other duties, as assigned by Manager of Prevention Services and/or Wabanaki Public Health &amp; Wellness Leadership</span><br></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Education and Experience Required</span>:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Education and professional experience in substance use, prevention, psychology, social work, public health, and/or mental health-related fields is desired; equivalent to a minimum of 2 years</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Has a strong understanding of Prevention Services principles. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Lived experience is desired</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Training in trauma informed care, crisis prevention, de-escalation, and prevention desired</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Must be willing to be certified in HIV / HCV screening / testing through DHHS.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Must have or be able hold and maintain an active BLS/CPR certification</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Must have ability to facilitate groups and trainings as needed in Bangor and Millinocket</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 lbs.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Requires sitting, standing, reaching, and occasional pre-approved travel across Wabanaki communities</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">Must Pass all required background checks</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">  </span></p>\n<ul></ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\"><span style=\"color: #222222\">Strong organizational skills</span></span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\"><span style=\"color: #222222\">Ability to support multiple tasks and projects</span></span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\"><span style=\"color: #222222\">Ability to maintain confidentiality</span></span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\"><span style=\"color: #222222\">Have strong cultural competency skills / ability to meet people where they are/ trauma- informed</span></span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: Lato, sans-serif;
