    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Designs, implements and oversees the physical design and operation of the organization’s databases in order to maintain security and integrity controls.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>The list of essential functions, as outlined herein, is intended to be representative of the duties and responsibilities performed within this classification. The omission of an essential function does not preclude management from assigning duties not listed herein if such functions are a logical assignment to the position.</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Oversees operations of on-premises and cloud-based database environments, including production, non-production, and disaster recovery systems</li>\n <li>Designs, implements, and supports hybrid database architectures across on-premises and cloud-based environments</li>\n <li>Leads database migration efforts, including cloud transition strategies with low- to near-zero downtime</li>\n <li>Implements and supports data replication, synchronization, and change data capture solutions</li>\n <li>Designs, configures, and supports virtualized database environments with a focus on performance and scalability</li>\n <li>Develops, maintains, and tests enterprise backup and disaster recovery strategies across hybrid environments</li>\n <li>Collaborates with infrastructure teams to optimize database storage performance across SAN/NAS and cloud-based storage environments</li>\n <li>Designs and develops advanced SQL solutions, including high-performance stored procedures, indexing strategies, and query tuning</li>\n <li>Builds, deploys, and maintains SSIS packages and modern ETL pipelines</li>\n <li>Implements and maintains high availability and resiliency solutions, including Always On Availability Groups, clustering, replication, and geo-replication</li>\n <li>Automates database administration, monitoring, deployment, and maintenance processes using scripting and infrastructure automation tools</li>\n <li>Monitors system health and performance; proactively resolves bottlenecks</li>\n <li>Establishes and enforces database security standards, including encryption, identity integration, and auditing</li>\n <li>Advises leadership on data strategy, cloud adoption, and modernization efforts.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: </strong></p>\n<p>Bachelor’s degree in a computer related field from an accredited college or university and six (6) to eight (8) years of experience in related field; or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience.<strong>  </strong> </p>\n<p><strong>CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND DESIGNATIONS: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate</li>\n <li>Azure Data Engineer Associate or AWS equivalent</li>\n <li>Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)</li>\n <li>Oracle GoldenGate certification preferred</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to organize work for timely completion</li>\n <li>Ability to speak, write, read, and understand English</li>\n <li>Ability to follow complex oral and written instructions</li>\n <li>Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing</li>\n <li>Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work</li>\n <li>Skill in Microsoft Office applications</li>\n <li>Skill using database platforms, including Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Database, Azure SQL Database, and Amazon RDS</li>\n <li>Skill using cloud platforms, including Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services</li>\n <li>Skill using data integration and replication tools, including Oracle GoldenGate, SQL Server Integration Services, and Azure Data Factory</li>\n <li>Skill using virtualization technologies, including VMware and Oracle VM</li>\n <li>Skill using automation, scripting, and infrastructure automation tools, including PowerShell and Terraform</li>\n <li>Ability to travel up to 10% of the time</li>\n <li>Ability to commute with personal transportation.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: </strong></p>\n<p>The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
