    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>As an <strong>Automated Test Engineer</strong>, you will work with our growing DevSecOps practice delivering quality assurance services to support application and data systems development in an AI-enabled software development environment. We are looking for candidates with 3–5 years of experience with quality assurance and test automation practices in an Agile/DevSecOps work environment, with the ability to support manual testing as needed.</p>\n<h2>Contributions</h2>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities include:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Understand the needs of stakeholders and convey requirements to developers</li>\n <li>Meet with product design teams to determine testing parameters</li>\n <li>Write test plans, create test cases, test procedures, bug reports, and final QA reports for products</li>\n <li>Manage test data architecture definition and requests</li>\n <li>Troubleshoot errors and streamline test procedures</li>\n <li>Test and examine code written by others and analyze results, including:</li>\n <ul>\n  <li>Data validation testing</li>\n  <li>Functional testing</li>\n  <li>Performance and load testing</li>\n  <li>Usability testing</li>\n  <li>Accessibility (508) testing</li>\n </ul>\n <li>Establish automated testing tools and infrastructure for test automation</li>\n <li>Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Cucumber JVM, TestNG, and Selenium</li>\n <li>Develop and execute API tests using TestNG and related tooling</li>\n <li>Perform performance and load testing using tools such as JMeter</li>\n <li>Conduct accessibility (Section 508) testing using tools such as ANDI and Axe</li>\n <li>Provide manual testing support for functional validation, exploratory testing, and edge case scenarios, as needed</li>\n <li>Provide validation testing of different systems and data sets</li>\n <li>Develop automated testing scripts considering parallelization and idempotency</li>\n <li>Automate and improve development, testing, and release processes</li>\n <li>Ensure systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats</li>\n <li>Work with software developers and engineers to ensure development follows established processes and works as intended</li>\n <li>Experience debugging test failures and identifying root cause</li>\n <li>Work with teams to bring continuous improvement to DevSecOps processes and tools</li>\n <li>Utilize tools such as Jira for story tracking and XRAY for test case management</li>\n <li>Work within CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Harness and GitLab</li>\n <li>Develop and maintain test code using Java and modern IDEs such as VS Code</li>\n <li>Engineer and implement solutions and provide recommendations for continuous improvement</li>\n <li>Present regular status updates and provide cross-training to other team members</li>\n <li>Act as an individual contributor and mentor junior team members</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to obtain a U.S. government Security Clearance</li>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience</li>\n <li>3+ years of experience with Git SCM providers such as GitLab, GitHub, or Bitbucket</li>\n <li>3+ years of experience with one or more programming or scripting languages</li>\n <li>3+ years of experience implementing test automation using tools such as Selenium, Cucumber</li>\n <li>Experience developing and maintaining automated test scripts in Java</li>\n <li>Experience with API testing using frameworks such as RestAssured</li>\n <li>Ability to perform both automated and manual testing across the software development lifecycle</li>\n <li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills</li>\n <li>Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience with performance and load testing (e.g., JMeter)</li>\n <li>Experience with accessibility (Section 508) testing tools such as ANDI or Axe</li>\n <li>Experience working with Jira and XRAY for test and requirements management</li>\n <li>Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Harness</li>\n <li>Experience working in Agile delivery environments</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>About <strong>steampunk</strong></h2>\n<p>Steampunk relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $90,000 to $130,000.  The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
