The Instructor will assist with the planning, leading, and supervision of youth and adult sports including practices, clinics, and games. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>For information on Y Employee Perks, click on this link: Employee Benefits | YMCA of San Diego County (ymcasd.org)</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Schedule</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Location: Dan McKinney Family YMCA</li>\n <li>Saturdays, 8:00am-4:00pm</li>\n <li>Weekdays between 3:30-8:00pm (basketball and volleyball)</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Plan, lead, and supervise assigned youth and adult sport practices, clinics, and games </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Prepare sports fields and courts for use including equipment set up and breakdown </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Maintain all sports equipment used by the sports department </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Maintain a safe environment ensuring playing areas are suitable for game play </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Ensure a safe program operation for all participants </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide continual instruction and supervision of group and serve as a leader </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Serve as score keeper for assigned games </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Attend and actively participate in assigned staff meetings </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Maintain a positive relationship with staff, participants, volunteer coaches, and parents </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Track attendance of participants in games, clinics, and practices and maintain records </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Follow YMCA standards, procedures, guidelines, objectives and goals </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Demonstrate enthusiasm in all phases of work with participants </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Ensure effective communication with parents, colleagues, volunteers, and participants </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Instill, teach and model YMCA values at all times </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Other duties as assigned  </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be 18 years of age or older</li>\n <li>Minimum of 6+ month’s experience in organized youth and adult sports </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Physical ability to lead and interact in group activities and perform job related tasks </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Must have visual, physical, and auditory ability to act swiftly in emergency situations </li>\n <li>Licensing, state law and our government funders require that staff within YMCA of San Diego County be fingerprinted, prior to reporting to work, and include subsequent arrest notifications </li>\n <li>CPR/AED, and First Aid Certification, must include Adult and Child/Infant, obtained within 30 days of hire and must be from one of the following certifying organizations: \n  <ul>\n   <li>American Red Cross </li>\n   <li>American Heart Association </li>\n   <li>American Safety & Health Institute </li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>YMCA will consider qualified applicants with a criminal history pursuant to the San Diego County Fair Chance Ordinance and the California Fair Chance Act. You do not need to disclose your criminal history or participate in a background check until a conditional job offer is made to you.
