    "description": "<p><strong>Job Summary</strong><br />\r\nUnder the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Golf Course Grounds, the Golf Course Maintenance &ndash; Seasonal position will undertake and be responsible for the completion of routine and special projects assigned. They shall complete their assignments to the best of their abilities, offer suggestions to improve job efficiency and quality and keep in mind the best interests of the Park District and fellow employees.&nbsp;</p>\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Supervisory Responsibilities</strong><br />\r\nThis position will have no supervisory responsibilities.</p>\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Essential Job Duties</strong><br />\r\nInclude, but not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.&nbsp;</p>\r\n\r\n<p>&bull;Carry out all golf labor duties as assigned under the supervision of the Assistant Superintendent.<br />\r\n&bull;Turf maintenance including mowing, seeding, sodding, aerating and application of fertilizers, herbicides and insecticides.<br />\r\n&bull;Maintain golf course facilities.<br />\r\n&bull;Plant, maintain and remove all landscape material, including large trees.<br />\r\n&bull;Inspect, repair, construct and clean all gold amenities.<br />\r\n&bull;Repair and painting of facilities and equipment.<br />\r\n&bull;Irrigation system maintenance repair.<br />\r\n&bull;Irrigate manually to maintain turf and flowers.<br />\r\n&bull;Drainage system installation, maintenance and repair.<br />\r\n&bull;Maintain all equipment and hand tools used.<br />\r\n&bull;Remove and properly dispose of all trash and refuse from golf course.<br />\r\n&bull;Maintain ponds as instructed by the Assistant Superintendent.<br />\r\n&bull;Attend seminars and workshops to provide for professional growth.<br />\r\n&bull;Communicate matters of departmental interest or importance to the Assistant Superintendent in a timely manner.<br />\r\n&bull;Assist the General Manager/Superintendent of Golf Operations and Assistant Superintendent in completing reports, record keeping, purchasing and communications with residents, vendors and recreation staff.<br />\r\n&bull;Making and maintaining ice rinks.<br />\r\n&bull;Custodial work including cleaning of kitchens, locker rooms, toilets and restroom areas.<br />\r\n&bull;Painting and finishing indoors and outdoors.<br />\r\n&bull;Trades construction and repair of park and playground equipment, park amenities, park buildings, roofs, doors and windows.<br />\r\n&bull;Perform other related Park District duties as required or assigned.</p>\r\n",
