As part of the engineering team for the project, the Project Engineer will participate in team meetings, work collaboratively to achieve the strategic objectives of the project, and assist with any project requirements when needed.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Work Environment</strong></p>\n<p><strong>This position will be required to work on-site from a project location within the United States of America. </strong>Locations include but are not limited to: California, New York, Michigan, Montana, New Mexico, Tennessee, Alaska, Arkansas, Arizona, North Dakota, Nevada, Colorado, and Texas. Candidates must be willing and able to relocate to the local area of their assigned project. Remote work and fly-in-fly-out work arrangements are not options for these positions.</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be willing and able to relocate to and reside in assigned project areas in the USA</li>\n <li>Must be a Canadian, Mexican, or American Dual citizen for work visa purposes</li>\n <li>Must have a minimum of a four-year bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university for work visa purposes</li>\n <li>Heavy civil construction experience is required</li>\n <li>Experience working for in the field for a General Contractor on an active construction site is required</li>\n <li>Experience working for a general contractor is preferred</li>\n <li>Ability to handle multiple tasks and make sound business decisions in a timely manner to adapt to changing situations</li>\n <li>Demonstrated ability to motivate and coordinate the efforts of others to accomplish objectives</li>\n <li>Comprehensive knowledge of project management principles, methods and practices combined with sound judgement</li>\n <li>Effective organizational, research, analytical and problem-solving abilities</li>\n <li>Good oral and written communication skills, including technical report writing skills</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>High level of involvement in the operations of our cost control system and analysis of construction costs</li>\n <li>Participate in monthly forecasting revenue and costs accruals</li>\n <li>Accumulate all necessary data and prepare monthly pay estimates</li>\n <li>Process and estimate change orders and Requests for Information as directed by Project Manager</li>\n <li>Coordinate and schedule shop drawings and submittals</li>\n <li>Maintain a complete and current record of submittals, approvals, and resubmittals, including a file of letters of transmittal and dates of each transaction</li>\n <li>Process/manage material deliveries – ensure that materials received are properly inspected for quantity and quality and in compliance with Contract documents</li>\n <li>Manage and negotiate subcontractor and material contracts</li>\n <li>Assist in developing and updating project schedule</li>\n <li>Work closely with field construction personnel (Superintendents, Foremen and Crews)</li>\n <li>Supporting quality control/quality assurance</li>\n <li>Representing Barnard on all assigned technical matters relating to your expertise</li>\n <li>Facilitating and attending technical and/or progress meetings as required</li>\n <li>Reviewing progress reports, and endorsing invoices for subcontractors as required</li>\n <li>Preparing and/or reviewing various reports and other correspondences related to project technical issues</li>\n <li>Regular contact with subcontractors, consultants, and other technical personnel</li>\n</ul>",
