    "description": "<p><strong>Position Title:</strong> Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO – Level 1)</p>\n\n<p> </p>\n\n<p><strong>Area of Requirement:</strong> Safety / Occupational Health</p>\n\n<p> </p>\n\n<p><u><strong>Scope of Position:</strong></u></p>\n\n<p>The SSHO’s primary duty is to prepare and enforce the contractor’s Safety Program in accordance with EM 385-1-1 and OSHA requirements. The SSHO or qualified alternate must be on-site at all times when work is performed.</p>\n\n<p> </p>\n\n<p><strong>Tasks and Capabilities Required:</strong></p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>Implement and enforce the Accident Prevention Plan (APP).</li>\n\t<li>Ensure compliance with EM 385-1-1 and 29 CFR 1926.16.</li>\n\t<li>Conduct job hazard analyses, safety inspections, and incident investigations.</li>\n\t<li>Manage Competent Person assignments for all hazard categories.</li>\n\t<li>Maintain training, documentation, safety logs, and reporting to Government safety offices.</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p> </p>\n\n<p><strong>Mandatory Experience and Certifications:</strong></p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>Five (5) years of experience preparing and enforcing safety programs on contracts of similar size and complexity, OR three (3) years if possessing a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or a equivalent safety/health degree.</li>\n\t<li>Completed OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety course or equivalent. (Certificate should be included in application package).</li>\n\t<li>24 hours of formal classroom/online SOH training within the past 5 years and ability to maintain 24 hours every three years.</li>\n\t<li>Must meet all qualification requirements of EM 385-1-1 (including subparagraphs).</li>\n\t<li>Must allocate and provide Competent Persons for all identified hazards.</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p> </p>\n\n<p><strong>Preferred/Desired Certifications:</strong></p>\n\n<ul>\n\t<li>CSP, Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician (OHST)</li>\n\t<li>NAVFAC Safety training</li>\n\t<li>EM 385-1-1 40-hour certification</li>\n</ul>\n\n<p> </p>\n\n<p><strong>Disclaimer:</strong></p>\n\n<p><em>The responsibilities and qualifications outlined above are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by those in this position.
