The ideal candidate is safety conscious, self-motivated, and experienced.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Why work for H&K Group, Inc.? </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Competitive salary commensurate with experience</li>\n <li>100% Company-paid Health Benefits</li>\n <li>Health Savings Account available</li>\n <li>401(k) Savings and Investment Plan</li>\n <li>Company vehicle after 90 day probationary period</li>\n <li>Tuition reimbursement programs available to qualifying employees for approved programs</li>\n <li>Additional training programs including on the job, online through H&K Academy, manufacturer offered training, and more</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</strong><strong> </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Performs all work according to OSHA, MSHA, and H&K Safety policies</li>\n <li>Follow and assure compliance with quality control plans</li>\n <li>Sample and test materials following standard practices and quality plans</li>\n <li>Maintain test records and assure compliance with company and agency specifications</li>\n <li>Maintain a clean, organized work environment</li>\n <li>Read and follow H&K Group employee handbook protocol and procedures</li>\n <li>Calibrate and maintain test equipment to standards</li>\n <li>Establish and maintain lines of communication with plant operations, agency representatives, and quality control supervision</li>\n <li>Work with sales team to address customer issues</li>\n <li>Generate reports and communicate results and trends to the quality control team and H&K employees</li>\n <li>Other duties as assigned</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required Skills, Education, and Experience</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Strong work ethic and organizational skills</li>\n <li>Algebra-level math to perform AASHTO and ASTM procedure calculations </li>\n <li>Rudimentary ability to use computers, spreadsheets, word processors</li>\n <li>Able to work in a team or independently as needed</li>\n <li>Time management</li>\n <li>Valid driver’s license</li>\n <li>Reliable transportation</li>\n <li>Attainment of NECEPT technician qualification within 18 months of hire</li>\n <li>Ability to meet standards of PennDOT, PA Turnpike Commission, the FAA, and other recognized authorities</li>\n <li>Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed</li>\n <li>Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High School diploma or equivalent (such as the GED) from an accredited educational institution</li>\n <li>Previous experience working with aggregates and bituminous materials</li>\n <li>NECEPT bituminous plant and aggregate certification</li>\n <li>Experience in construction materials production or use</li>\n <li>Basic knowledge of crushing and asphalt plants</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Physical Demands</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Lift up to 50 pounds</li>\n <li>Occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, feel, talk, or hear</li>\n <li>Vision abilities required include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Work Environment</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Occasionally exposed to moving, mechanical parts</li>\n <li>Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places</li>\n <li>Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles</li>\n <li>Frequently work with materials up to 300⁰F</li>\n <li>Hours vary by project and may include overtime, nights, and weekends</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>The H&K Group, Inc. </strong>provides complete heavy civil contracting and construction materials solutions with safety, speed, quality, efficiency, and value.
