Description

POSITION SUMMARY The Saw Operator is responsible for cutting raw materials, including steel, aluminum, and other metals, to specified dimensions to support downstream manufacturing operations in a precision contract manufacturing environment. This role ensures material is accurately prepared, properly labeled, and staged for production in accordance with drawings, work instructions, and quality standards. The Saw Operator also supports material handling and organization activities to ensure efficient flow of materials throughout the facility. ITAR REQUIREMENTS This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), which restricts access to export-controlled information to U.S. persons. A U.S. person is generally defined as a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, or others specifically authorized under U.S. export regulations. General work authorization (e.g., work permit or EAD) or visa sponsorship does not meet ITAR requirements. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Operate saw equipment to cut raw materials to specified dimensions. Read and interpret work orders, drawings, and cut lists to ensure accurate material preparation. Inspect materials for defects or non-conformance prior to and after cutting. Accurately measure and verify dimensions using standard measuring tools. Label, organize, and stage cut materials for downstream production processes. Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move raw and finished materials throughout the facility. Maintain an organized and efficient material staging and storage area. Perform basic equipment maintenance such as cleaning, blade changes, and routine inspections. Follow all safety procedures and ensure safe operation of equipment at all times. Communicate material issues, shortages, or discrepancies to supervision or production staff. Support continuous improvement efforts related to material flow, accuracy, and efficiency. Maintain a clean and orderly work environment. Perform other duties and support other work areas, including maintenance, shipping/receiving, or others as assigned.
