Based in <strong>Thunder Bay</strong>, this role offers the opportunity to contribute to <strong>heavy industrial and mining projects</strong>, working alongside a close‑knit and collaborative team.</span></p><p><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Reporting to a <strong>Senior Engineer / Team Lead</strong>, you will apply your structural drafting expertise from <strong>conceptual design through project completion</strong>, supporting new construction and rehabilitation projects for industrial, institutional, and government clients across Ontario.</span></p><hr><p><strong>Your Impact</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Apply structural drafting and modelling expertise from <strong>conceptual design through construction completion</strong> on industrial and mining projects.</span></li><li><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Produce high‑quality <strong>3D models and 2D drawings</strong> to support planning, permitting, and construction.</span></li><li><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Develop drawings for <strong>steel, concrete, and masonry structures</strong>, including foundations and industrial facilities.</span></li><li><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Collaborate closely with engineers and multi‑disciplinary teams to deliver coordinated design solutions.</span></li><li><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Participate in <strong>site visits and field reviews</strong>, verifying construction progress and gathering technical information.</span></li><li><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Support <strong>material quantity take‑offs</strong> for steel, concrete, excavation, and earthworks.</span></li><li><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Review <strong>structural steel and reinforcing steel shop drawings</strong> to ensure design intent is met.</span></li><li><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Uphold WSP’s <strong>health and safety culture</strong>, applying Life Saving Rules on all sites.</span></li></ul><hr><p><span lang=\"EN-CA\"><strong>The Skills That Set You Apart</strong></span></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li><span lang=\"EN-CA\">College diploma or degree in <strong>Civil Engineering Technology, Structural Engineering</strong>, or equivalent.</span></li><li><span lang=\"EN-CA\"><strong>6+ years</strong> of experience in <strong>structural drafting and design</strong>, ideally within heavy industrial and/or mining environments.</span></li><li><p style=\"line-height: 15pt;\"><span lang=\"EN-CA\">While this role is scoped at an intermediate level, <strong>we are also very open to considering senior‑level candidates&nbsp;</strong>whose experience and expertise align with the needs of our growing Resources practice.</span></p></li><li><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Strong proficiency in <strong>AutoCAD and REVIT</strong>, with demonstrated <strong>2D and 3D modelling</strong> experience.</span></li><li><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Solid understanding of <strong>steel structures and concrete foundations.</strong></span></li><li><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Experience working within <strong>large, multi‑disciplinary EPCM project environments.</strong></span></li><li><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Knowledge of <strong>Ontario and National Building Codes</strong> and relevant industry standards.</span></li><li><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Willingness to perform <strong>field work and site visits</strong> as required.</span></li><li><span lang=\"EN-CA\">A collaborative mindset and positive attitude suited to a <strong>small, close‑knit team environment.</strong></span></li></ul><hr><p><span lang=\"EN-CA\"><strong>Why Choose WSP?</strong></span></p><p><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Why Choose WSP?
