    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Job Summary</p>\n<p>The Patient Relations Specialist is responsible for patient collections when the financial responsibility falls on the patient, making financial arrangements and informing patients of all coverage options, such as Government programs or Financial CARE.  Ensure reimbursement to Air Methods from patients or other responsible parties and assist patients in understanding their healthcare insurance coverage and any patient liability. Make final determinations on collectability and balances.</p>\n<p>Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following: </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Manage incoming/outgoing calls from/to patients/guarantors, insurance companies, and attorneys; Complete conference calls and/or transfer calls to the appropriate department, if necessary</li>\n <li>Review and resolve accounts where the patient is uninsured, there is any residual patient financial responsibility after insurance, and accounts which require additional investigation and special handling; Provide information to patients or other responsible parties about coverage details and payment options; Take payment, if necessary</li>\n <li>Thoroughly review, document, and resolve patients’ or responsible parties’ communications</li>\n <li>Accurately perform skip tracing to ensure best contact</li>\n <li>Other duties as assigned</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Additional Job Requirements</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Regular scheduled attendance  </li>\n <li>Indicate the percentage of time spent traveling - 0%</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Subject to applicable laws and Air Method’s policies, regular attendance is an essential function of the position.  All employees must follow Air Methods’ employment practices and policies.</p>\n<p>Supervisory Responsibilities</p>\n<p>This position has no supervisory responsibilities.           </p>\n<p>Qualifications</p>\n<p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  In accordance with applicable laws, Air Methods will provide reasonable accommodations that do not create an undue burden so disabled employees may perform the essential functions of the position.</p>\n<p>Education & Experience</p>\n<ul>\n <li>High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two to three years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience</li>\n <li>2-3 years’ experience in healthcare billing/collections field; preferred</li>\n <li>Knowledge of all Government, Commercial and Private payers; preferred</li>\n <li>1 years’ experience in high dollar collection and financial debt counseling; preferred</li>\n <li>Previous Dialer experience; preferred</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Skills</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills</li>\n <li>Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented, ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines</li>\n <li>Excellent customer service and phone skills</li>\n <li>Strong ability to balance compassionate and empathetic customer service with the goal of account resolution</li>\n <li>Excellent problem-solving </li>\n <li>Bilingual in English and Spanish; preferred</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Computer Skills</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Intermediate with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook</li>\n <li>Certificates, Licenses, Registrations</li>\n <li>American Association of Healthcare Administration Management (AAHAM) certified within 6 months of hire</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Air Methods is an EEO/AA employer.
