    "jobDescription": "<p style=\"text-align:inherit\"></p><p style=\"text-align:left\"><b>Position Summary:</b></p>We seek an energetic, approachable and experienced counselor who is passionate about working with college-aged and non-traditional students.<br><br>The clinical counselor will play a crucial role in supporting the emotional and psychological well-being of ASU students within a Step Care Model  serving both on-campus and online students who reside in the state of Colorado. <br><br>Responsibilities will include providing a range of mental health services to address the diverse needs of our student population such as assisting in the  daily operations of the Counseling Center, carrying a reasonable individual counseling caseload, developing and facilitating group therapy, and providing outreach and prevention programming.<h1><b>Specific Job Duties (Essential Functions and Responsibilities)</b></h1><p><span>The Clinical Counselor, who reports to the Director of Counseling Services, will work on a 10-month contract providing services during the academic year (August-May). These services include the following:</span></p><ul><li><p><span>Assisting in the  daily operations of the ASU Counseling Center</span></p></li><li><p><span>Conducting initial mental health assessments to determine the appropriate level of care</span></p></li><li><p><span>Using clinical judgment to triage and assign students to the appropriate level of care within the Step Care Model</span></p></li><li><p><span>Provision of culturally responsive mental health services</span></p></li><li><p><span>Providing short-term individual counseling and crisis intervention</span></p></li><li><p><span>Offering group therapy sessions and support groups for specific concern populations</span></p></li><li><p><span>Develop and implement individualized treatment plans</span></p></li><li><p><span>Collaborate with external providers when necessary for long-term and specialized care</span></p></li><li><p><span>Design and deliver educational programs and workshops on mental health topics</span></p></li><li><p><span>Collaborating with other campus departments to promote mental health awareness, wellness, and prevention efforts</span></p></li></ul><h1></h1><h1><b>Qualifications<span>:</span></b></h1><h2><b>Required Qualifications:</b></h2><ul><li><p><span>MA/MS required in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field</span></p></li><li><p><span>Licensure-eligible and hold a temporary licensure permit (LPCC or equivalent)</span></p></li><li><p><span>Minimum of one year of experience working directly with a college-aged student population</span></p></li><li><p><span>Ability to treat others with respect, civility, and courtesy and to work honestly, effectively, and collegially with employees, students, and the community</span></p></li></ul><h2></h2><h2>Preferred Qualifications:</h2><ul><li><p><span>Licensure in the State of Colorado LPC or LCSW</span></p></li><li><p><span>Experience and expertise in planning and implementing prevention and awareness activities on a college campus</span></p></li><li><p><span>Experience supervising clinicians-in-training and other staff</span></p></li><li><p><span>Demonstrate cultural competence in diverse student populations</span></p></li></ul><h1></h1><h1></h1><p><b>Salary and Benefits:</b></p><p><span>The salary range for this position is $47,400 - $66,400 (Pro-rated for .83 FTE $39,342-$55,112 a 10-month contract to be paid over 12 months).  In addition to salary, Adams State University offers a competitive benefits program including medical, dental, vision, disability insurance, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, and retirement savings plans.
