Position Summary We’re seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Director, Corporate FP&A, to help drive the company’s operational and financial performance in a fast-paced, scaling biotech environment. This role will lead core FP&A processes, including annual planning, forecasting, and monthly performance reviews, and serve as a trusted partner to functional leaders across Manufacturing, R&D, Commercial, and G&A. The Director will deliver actionable insights to support decision-making in a capital-intensive, project-driven business. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative, hands-on environment, brings a strong analytical mindset, and can translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations for leadership. This is Cellares Cellares is the first Integrated Development and Manufacturing Organization (IDMO) and takes an Industry 4.0 approach to mass manufacturing the living drugs of the 21st century. The company is both developing and operating integrated technologies for cell therapy manufacturing to accelerate access to life-saving cell therapies. The company’s Cell Shuttle integrates all the technologies required for the entire manufacturing process in a flexible and high-throughput platform that delivers true walk-away, end-to-end automation. Cell Shuttles will be deployed in Cellares’ Smart Factories around the world to meet total patient demand for cell therapies at global scale. Partnering with Cellares enables academics, biotechs, and pharma companies to accelerate drug development and scale out manufacturing, lower process failure rates, lower manufacturing costs, and meet global patient demand. The company is headquartered in South San Francisco, California with its commercial-scale IDMO Smart Factory in Bridgewater, New Jersey. The company is backed by world-class investors and has raised over $355 million in financing. Leveling will be based on overall experience, education, and demonstration of knowledge throughout the interview process. Responsibilities Lead corporate financial planning processes, including annual operating plan, quarterly forecasts, and monthly budget-to-actual analysis Partner with department leaders to align headcount, operating expenses, and capital investments with company milestones Build and maintain financial models for cash flow forecasting, scenario planning, and long-range planning Provide analysis to evaluate manufacturing cost structures, R&D investment priorities, and commercial launch economics Prepare monthly and quarterly management reports with performance commentary for leadership Collaborate with Accounting to ensure accurate month-end close and reporting Support the preparation of Board and investor materials, including financial updates and KPI's Identify opportunities to improve forecasting accuracy, process efficiency, and data integrity Requirements Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field 10+ years of relevant demonstrated financial and leadership experience, preferably in biotech, pharma, life sciences, or manufacturing Extensive experience with SAP or other relevant ERP solutions Experience with analysis tools and databases such as Power Query, Python, SQL, Power BI, Snowflake, and Tableau Highly organized with a meticulous attention to detail and the willingness to be in a hands-on position Deep understanding of industry financials Proven track record of financial leadership in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear recommendations Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both internal teams and external partners
