    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>This Nurse Leadership position is for our dedicated Pediatric Cardiac Operating Room (OR). &nbsp; The Cardiac OR Nurse Manager facilitates, coordinates and directs patient care in the cardiac operative suite. Mentors and develops staff and manages the environment of practice. &nbsp;The cardiac OR performs about 360 cardiac procedures annually. &nbsp;The ideal candidate will have both leadership and pediatric Cardiac OR experience as a scrub and circulating nurse.</p>\n<p>This position is responsible for: Facilitates, coordinates and directs patient care services and provides leadership for designated area(s) of responsibility. Responsible for planning, development and utilization of human and material resources to meet departmental needs. Mentors and develops staff. Manages the environment of practice. Demonstrates a commitment to leading in adherence with the principles of the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Magnet model, exemplifying the transformational nursing leadership component of this model. Responsible for participation in departmental and hospital programs for Quality Assessment and Improvement, identifying opportunities to improve services, making recommendations and implementing actions as appropriate and consistent with the goals of the Nemours Foundation. Leadership includes strategic planning, ensuring evidence based care delivery, benchmarked quality patient service and outcomes, experience with LEAN methodology (or similar) for continuous improvement, well developed change management skills, and fiscal stewardship.</p>\n<p><strong>Position Responsibilities</strong>:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Participates in nursing and organizational policy formulation and decision-making.</li>\n <li>Facilitates participation of staff in nursing and organizational policy formation &amp; decision-making</li>\n <li>Accepts organizational accountability for services provided to patients and families within defined areas of accountability.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Evaluates the quality and appropriateness of care.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Provides guidance for and supervision of personnel accountable to the nurse manager.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Coordinates nursing services with the services of other health care disciplines.</li>\n <li>Participates in recruitment, selection, and retention of personnel.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Assumes responsibility for staffing and scheduling personnel. Assignments reflect appropriate utilization of personnel.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Assures appropriate orientation, education, credentialing and continuing professional development for personnel.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Evaluates the performance of personnel.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Participates in planning and monitoring the budget for defined areas of responsibility.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Participates in and involves the staff in evaluative research activities.</li>\n <li>Fosters a climate conducive to educational experiences for nursing and other students.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Fosters peer review.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Fosters own professional growth.&nbsp;</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Position Requirements</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Masters in Nursing or related field preferred.</li>\n <li>Five years clinical experience required, preferably at least one year in pediatrics.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of professional nursing theory &amp; practice; knowledge of management theory and change process.</li>\n <li>Previous management experience required.</li>\n <li>Active registered nurse licensure for Delaware Required</li>\n <li>Certification in nursing administration and/or certification in CVOR preferred</li>\n <li>Current AHA Healthcare Provider (HCP) Certification required</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Questions? &nbsp;Contact Megan Roberts: 302-298-8295 or [email protected].</p>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p>#LI-MR1</p>",
