This includes directing and organizing the daily work of Fence Crew Members and performing labor and tasks necessary for the installation of Chain Link, Wood, Ornamental Iron, and Vinyl fences.</p><ul><li>Directs, organizes and oversees all aspects of Fence Installation work at assigned worksites to assure quality and timely completion of work site requirements.</li><li>Leads by example, and provides guidance for Crew Members, in regards to company policies and procedures such as attendance, conduct and dress code. &nbsp;</li><li>Communicates with and provides exceptional customer service to clients in the absence of a Project Coordinator, Production Manager, or Sales.</li><li>Identify problems at the work site and follow through appropriately, consulting with a Project Coordinator, Production Manager, or Sales as appropriate.</li><li>Responsible for daily preparation of trucks and equipment, loading and securing equipment and material.&nbsp;</li><li>Performs all tasks involved in installation of fence, including but not limited to, removing old fences, preparing the ground, mixing and preparing concrete settings, digging trenches, and positioning fence elements.</li><li>May determine and layout or follow new fence lines, follow height specifications and ensure quality installation. &nbsp;</li><li>Operates equipment including, but not limited to, air pounders, post hole diggers, saws, various hand tools, as well as mini and/or full size skid loaders.&nbsp;</li><li>May operate company vehicle to and from worksite.&nbsp;</li><li>Assists customers, coworkers, and sales staff in a friendly and professional manner.</li><li>Maintain a neat and organized work area to service the customer as efficiently as possible.</li><li>Communicates effectively with coworkers, customers, delivery drivers, Production Coordinators, and Sales staff to ensure efficiency.</li><li>Be an active participant in snow removal during the winter months.</li><li>Ensures team&rsquo;s compliance with company safety policies and procedures at all times.&nbsp;</li><li>Performs other tasks as assigned by Supervisors/Managers.</li></ul><p><strong>Working Conditions and Physical Requirements</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li><strong>Outdoor Work:</strong> Work is primarily performed outdoors throughout all seasons.</li><li><strong>Weather Exposure:</strong> Exposure to various outdoor weather conditions, including inclement weather such as rain, snow, heat, or cold.</li><li><strong>Noise Level:</strong> The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Hearing protection is required for duties involving equipment operation that exposes the individual to elevated noise levels.</li><li><strong>Chemical Exposure:</strong> Duties may expose the individual to chemicals and fertilizers.</li></ul><p><strong>Schedule</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Peak Season Hours:</strong> Typical work hours are Monday through Friday from 6:45 am to 5:00 pm (40-55 hours per week) during our peak season (approximately April to November). Saturday hours as needed.</li><li><strong>Full-time Seasonal Position:</strong> This is a full-time seasonal position.</li><li><strong>Overtime:</strong> Occasional overtime as workload dictates.</li><li><strong>Winter Hours:</strong> Hours vary in the winter months (approximately December through March) based on snow removal needs.</li></ul><p><strong>Skills You Need</strong></p><ul><li><strong>Fencing Experience:</strong> A minimum of 2-3 years of Fence installation, Carpentry, or Construction experience is preferred, but not required</li><li><strong>Leadership:</strong> Previous Crew Leader experience is preferred.&nbsp;</li><li><strong>Equipment Operation:</strong> Previous experience operating equipment (loader, bobcat, skid steer, or other used in landscape installation) is helpful but not required.</li><li><strong>Product Knowledge:</strong> Knowledge of fence material is helpful but not required.</li><li><strong>Communication:</strong> Must be able to communicate effectively in English.</li><li><strong>Driver&rsquo;s License:</strong> A valid driver&#39;s license is required.</li></ul><p><strong>Benefits&nbsp;</strong></p><p>The Bruce Company offers competitive hourly pay, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, PTO, and retirement benefits, and more coupled with a challenging and team-oriented work environment to help you succeed in your career.</p><p>Join our team of outdoor living experts and experience for yourself why many of our employees have chosen to make their life-long careers at The Bruce Company.
