Mary McDowell Friends School (MMFS) invites applications for a full-time Interim Upper School Education Technology Integrator beginning August 2026. Job Title: Interim Upper School Educational Technology Integrator Reports to: Chief Technology Officer and Director of Upper School Position Overview MMFS strives to support students, faculty, and the educational community in the use of technology to aid in the learning process. This goes well beyond facilitating mandated or recommended assistive technology - an Educational Technology Integrator works to match students and faculty with the best technologies to not just enable the learning process, but enrich it. Whenever possible, the goal is to provide detailed and targeted instruction to assist someone learning the tools/process for creating their own content, rather than simply gathering needs, and creating the content for the student or teacher. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for education, working with High School teachers, and working with a team of IT professionals dedicated to the mission of educating LD Students. Essential Responsibilities and Duties In order to facilitate daily work and project-based planning, the primary role is defined in two parts: Students Manage student technology issues as promptly as possible, as they arise. If this involves coordination with IT due to software/hardware needs, communication and follow-through should be detailed and prompt. Work with faculty to ensure that source texts (novels for English, textbooks for other departments) are as accessible as possible (through Audible.com, Learning Ally, or Kurzweil). In the case where source documents are not accessible, work with assigning faculty to facilitate accessible versions. Facilitate installation, support and training for students in a speech to text/text to speech needs through Read and Write for Google, as well as Google Apps STT engine. Facilitate installation, support, and training for students to effectively utilize Google Apps for Education, particularly Google Docs and Google Classroom. Facilitate assistive technology assessment and implementation. Faculty Push into classrooms in order to observe and support students and faculty technology use. Facilitate installation, support, and training for faculty to effectively utilize Google Classroom. Facilitate installation, support, and training for faculty to effectively utilize Engrade. Facilitate and manage peripheral technology (interactive whiteboards, scanners, cameras, and projection appliances) which can be used in a classroom setting to create subject matter, or enrich the learning experience. Facilitate installation, support, and training for faculty to effectively utilize content creation tools integrable with the interactive whiteboards in every classroom. The goal is that every teacher can deliver a multisensory, accessible curriculum. Help with general technology literacy, vet, and provide documentation and self-help resources. Additionally, you will partner with another Integrator to meet community needs: Community Maintain documentation and resources. Collect student work and create initiatives for content on the Lightpost, the online student publication. Collaborate with Technology Operations and other division Ed-Tech coordinators on larger school-wide technology initiatives. Engage in professional development opportunities to bring new technology and methods back to MMFS. AI and Technology Literacy Execute and help advance MMFS's commitment to AI and technology literacy within the division. Partner with Educational Technology colleagues across divisions to ensure the handoff of AI and technology literacy expectations, for both faculty and students, stays consistent and is regularly evaluated. In collaboration with the other Integrators, serve on the forthcoming MMFS AI Council as the educational technology voice for division faculty, contributing the divisional perspective to the evaluation and refinement of the school's AI policy, in accordance with the Board-approved AI Council governing document. Diversity and Equity Commitments Understand and participate in all school-wide diversity and equity initiatives. Examine administrative practice through the lens of race, identity, equity, and privilege. Support a school culture that allows for social identities to feel welcome. Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time, exempt, ten-month position that follows the academic calendar. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a half-hour paid lunch; faculty meetings occur every Wednesday from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand and will be scheduled in advance. Travel On occasion, travel between campuses is necessary for meetings, which are scheduled with advance notice and are within walking distance from each other. School trips are also scheduled with advance notice. Work Environment & Physical Demands This position requires the ability to maintain the physical capacity required to navigate the school environment and to ensure the safety of the students. The ability to open filing cabinets and bend or stand for long periods of time, as necessary. This position occasionally ascends/descends stairs to reach different rooms in the building (one to five flights). The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
