Our Lady of Lourdes Interparish School (OLLIS) in Columbia is seeking a dedicated, full-time 7th/8th grade Science Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. OLLIS is a thriving K–8 Catholic school serving approximately 635 students and is committed to academic excellence and the formation of each child in a Christ-centered community. We are seeking an educator who enjoys working with adolescents, values both high expectations and strong relationships, and is committed to helping students build strong scientific thinking skills through inquiry, hands-on learning, and real-world connections. The ideal candidate brings content expertise, clear instructional practices, and a collaborative approach to supporting student growth. Position Focus The 7th/8th Grade Science Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering standards-based instruction in science, incorporating labs and investigations, differentiating to meet diverse learner needs, assessing student progress, and providing timely feedback that helps students improve. The teacher works closely with colleagues to ensure consistency across grade levels and supports a positive classroom culture grounded in respect, accountability, and faith. Why Join OLLIS? OLLIS is proud to provide meaningful support for teachers and a strong professional community, including: Classroom Start-Up Funds – Full-time teachers receive an average of $450 annually (funded by school administration and our Home & School Association) to purchase classroom materials. Additional basic supplies are stocked in the teacher workroom for convenient access. Mentorship and Support – Novice teachers are paired with experienced mentors who provide support throughout the year. Teachers new to OLLIS with prior experience are partnered with a buddy teacher to assist with school routines and procedures. Professional Development Support – OLLIS partners with local schools to access Title funds, allowing teachers to attend conferences and workshops that strengthen instructional practice. Graduate Degree Assistance – Teachers may access tuition support through a partnership with Columbia College and may also apply for Diocesan tuition assistance, including the possibility of up to 90% tuition and fee reimbursement per semester for those pursuing an advanced degree (with a diocesan service commitment). Excellence in Education Bonus – Full-time teachers may receive an annual bonus through the Diocesan Excellence in Education Fund (DEEF) (amount varies based on fund performance; recent years have been approximately $1,000 for full-time teachers).
