    "description": "<h2>About JerseySTEM</h2>\n<p><strong>All JerseySTEM roles are pro-bono (unpaid) positions.</strong>JerseySTEM is a mission-driven professional network of pro-bono contributors dedicated to improving access to STEM education and career pathways for underserved middle school girls in New Jersey.</p>\n<p>Members contribute their professional skills and leverage their networks in service of the organization’s gender-equity agenda.Membership is a <strong>minimum six-month commitment of approximately six flexible hours per week </strong>and includes a $100 refundable deposit, returned after six months of active membership. K–12 educators, retirees, veterans, interns, and students are exempt from the deposit.</p>\n<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>JerseySTEM provides free after school STEM classes to underserved middle school girls grade 5-8. The Curriculum Lead for “New Trends in Computer Science” will research, design and curate, format and test a set of 10 lessons (2 hours each) to introduce topics of Cyber Security and Artificial Intelligence in an age appropriate manner to the Middle school girls.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>This is a pro-bono volunteer position.</strong></p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Work with Program Design Team Lead and Community Engagement Team Lead to define overall goal of the designated course</li>\n <li>Manage and support a team comprising of Curriculum Designers to:</li>\n <ul>\n  <li>Research existing curricula</li>\n  <li>Curate existing material and develop new material</li>\n  <li>Develop Google Classroom Material in 10 lessons</li>\n  <li>Produce both Teacher and Student material</li>\n  <li>Organize and document “Train the Trainer” sessions</li>\n  <li>Deliver the training to the Program Instructors</li>\n </ul>\n <li>Attend a weekly team call for collaboration (TBD)</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Genuine concern about/interest in solving the STEM education gender gap</li>\n <li>Familiarity with Science and Engineering standards for middle school students</li>\n <li>Experience with K-12 schools as a teacher, parent or former student professionally</li>\n <li>Familiarity with with New Jersey Student Learning Standards for Computer Science and Design Thinking</li>\n <li>Experience designing curriculum related to Artificial Intelligence & Cybersecurity</li>\n <li>Strong Analytical skills</li>\n <li>Resourceful, can-do attitude</li>\n</ul>",
