Research Support Specialist

Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume): Bachelor’s degree in biology-related field. Practical laboratory experience with molecular cloning. Preferred Qualifications: Experience generating and maintaining mammalian cell lines. Experience in image analysis using Python or MATLAB. Experience with high-resolution optical imaging. Experience with western blotting. Brief Description of Duties: The Research Laboratory Assistant position in the Laufer Center for Physical and Quantitative Biology assists a Principal Investigator (PI) with research experiments involving DNA cloning and mammalian cell line maintenance/creation. The successful candidate will work under the close supervision and direction of the PI. This position offers an exciting opportunity for professional development and advancement. Assist Principal Investigator with projects in the laboratory that involve molecular cloning, mammalian cell culture and microscopy Assist Principal Investigator with the management of the laboratory including ordering and maintaining supplies, lab stocks; learn and follow all safety procedures Participate in weekly lab meetings and aid in technical training of students Other duties or projects as assigned.
