    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>Job Summary:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Provides clinical expertise within the palliative care services team to improve quality of life and health for patients with complex chronic illnesses and approaching end-of-life illnesses.</li>\n <li>Builds effective relationships with referring physicians to ensure excellent team follow-up regarding patient consults and to build an improved culture of collaboration among specialists, primary care physicians, nurses, and other staff to meet the needs of palliative care patients</li>\n <li>Proactively identifies opportunities to improve the patient and family experience of care and to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of resources</li>\n <li>Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and clinical policies and procedures</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</strong>:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide consultation services in palliative care</li>\n <li>Provide education/guidance regarding the scope of Supportive Medicine/Palliative Care services to group physicians</li>\n <li>Monitor and supervise Supportive Medicine home care delivery team(s)</li>\n <li>Facilitate clarification of patient and family goals of care</li>\n <li>Diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic health</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;conditions</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Order, perform, and interpret laboratory and radiology tests&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Prescribe medications including controlled substances</li>\n <li>Order treatments and durable medical equipment as indicated</li>\n <li>Perform other therapeutic or corrective measures as indicated, including urgent care</li>\n <li>Consult with primary care physician of services provided and collaborate with other physicians as needed</li>\n <li>Assist in all facets of care coordination for palliative care referrals&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Prepare and maintain accurate patient records, charts, and documents to support sound medical practice and reimbursement for services provided</li>\n <li>Assist in development of clinical practice guidelines/standards in support of quality palliative care</li>\n <li>Timely review, oversight, and documentation of patient care by team NP (s) or RN</li>\n <li>Education of staff</li>\n <li>Adhere to the practice of confidentiality regarding patients, families, staff and the</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;organization</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Home and Nursing home visits on occasions</li>\n <li>Work with administrative team to improve operational efficiency of the Palliative Care section</li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>License and Certifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Doctor of Medicine</li>\n <li>Board certified or Board Eligible in internal medicine or Palliative/Hospice Medicine</li>\n <li>Current Texas medical license</li>\n <li><strong>Experience desired but not required.</strong></li>\n</ul>\n<p>&nbsp;</p>\n<p>Kelsey Seybold Clinic accepts H1B Visas</p>",
