Description

Overview Cordoba Corporation is a leading engineering and program management firm based in California. We are seeking a Project Engineer I to join our Energy-Gas sector. The Project Engineer I supports the planning, design, and execution of Gas utility projects by applying foundational engineering principles and technical expertise. This role involves coordinating with cross-functional teams, reviewing engineering documents, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. The engineer contributes to project success through effective problem-solving, schedule monitoring, and process improvement initiatives. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, collaborative, and eager to grow within a dynamic utility environment. Responsibilities Prepare and review engineering calculations, designs, specifications, standards, studies, and cost estimates to support moderate-sized projects and tasks managed by others. Apply technical expertise to resolve operational and engineering problems and provide sound recommendations across various disciplines and project teams. Manage and coordinate small projects and tasks, including scope development, budgeting, scheduling, permitting, design, procurement, and startup, ensuring successful completion and alignment with Company objectives. Participate in meetings to review revision of Gas Standards, providing input and recommending updates to reflect regulatory changes, operational improvements, and economic considerations. Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to monitor progress, resolve issues, and manage changes to engineering scope, budget, and schedule. Stay current with applicable state and federal regulations, Gas industry standards, company standards, rules, and tariffs. Maintain familiarity with Company operations, practices, policies, and procedures to effectively support client requests and internal assignments. Assess project impacts on Company facilities, programs, and operations, and identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and data accessibility at the team level. Communicate ideas and solutions confidently and respectfully in team discussions, while actively participating in construction and constructability reviews to ensure practical and effective project execution. Coordinate engineering and design activities, support discipline leads in executing their responsibilities and ensure alignment with project goals. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required 2-3 years of Gas utilities engineering experience required EIT (Engineer in Training) certification preferred Proficiency using the Microsoft Office Suite Experience using SAP and GIS preferred Experience working on multiple discipline projects Time management and organizational skills Ability to read and interpret documents; safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Ability to create design drawings Ability to write routine reports and correspondence Excellent communication skills and demonstrated potential for leadership Pay Range: $28.85 - $37.50 per hour Work Location: Onsite 5 days per week in the Santa Clarita, CA office Visa Sponsorship: Legal authorization to work in the U.S.A. on a full-time basis without sponsorship Physical Requirements: Ability to pass a pre-authorized physical including a drug-screening and background check Our Company Cordoba Corporation, Making a Difference Cordoba Corporation is a nationally recognized civil engineering, construction management, program management, and planning firm.
