    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>JOB SUMMARY</strong><br>\n  The Foundry Technician is responsible for executing a range of tasks involved in the metal casting process, including core making, mold preparation, melting, pouring, shakeout, and surface finishing. This role is essential to ensuring high-quality castings through precision, safety, and collaboration in a manufacturing environment.</p>\n<p><strong>PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Perform daily operations in one or more of the following casting functions: \n  <ul>\n   <li><strong>Core making</strong> - form the internal surfaces of castings.</li>\n   <li><strong>Mold making</strong> - form the external surfaces of castings.</li>\n   <li><strong>Mold closing</strong> - assemble cores and molds into complete mold assemblies.</li>\n   <li><strong>Melting&nbsp;</strong>- prepare molten metal from scrap steel/raw materials, adjust chemistry and temperature.</li>\n   <li><strong>Pouring&nbsp;</strong>- transfer molten metal into mold cavities.</li>\n   <li><strong>Shakeout</strong> - remove core and mold sand from castings and reclaim sand.</li>\n   <li><strong>Casting cleaning</strong> - remove gates, risers, fins, and surface defects; abrasive blast surfaces; inspect and repair castings.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Operate equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, and loaders as required.</li>\n <li>Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.</li>\n <li>Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.</li>\n <li>Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>FACILITY/GROUP SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Support casting operations across various foundry departments.</li>\n <li>Assist with sand reclamation, pattern storage, and casting touch-ups as needed.</li>\n <li>Actively contribute to safe and efficient daily operations.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>EDUCATION &amp; EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.</li>\n <li>1+ years’ experience in 2 or more of the following: pattern shop/storage; core making;&nbsp;molding making; mold closing; induction melting; pouring; shakeout; abrasive blasting; gating &amp; riser removal; grinding; casting inspection and touch-up preferred.</li>\n <li>On the job training Is available.</li>\n <li>1+ years’ experience operating forklift; overhead crane; frontend loader preferred.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>JOB REQUIREMENTS</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to pass a drug screen &amp; background check.</li>\n <li>Must have corrected vision to 20/20.</li>\n <li>Willingness to work in environments with extreme temperatures, noise, dust, fumes, and moving equipment.</li>\n <li>Must possess general knowledge of industrial applications in a manufacturing setting.</li>\n <li>Must possess general knowledge of safety rules and regulations.</li>\n <li>Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.</li>\n <li>Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions.</li>\n <li>Required to wear PPE including hard hat, gloves, face mask, and steel-toed boots.</li>\n <li>Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.</li>\n <li>Able to work well in a team environment as well as self-directed when working independently.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Willingness to comply with all safety regulations and procedures.</li>\n <li>Ability to adapt and be cross-trained to learn all job duties.</li>\n <li>Ability to multitask in fast paced environment.</li>\n <li>Factory environment with large range in temperature changes.</li>\n <li>Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks including walking, standing, bending, stooping, and reaching for extended periods of time.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Competitive Benefits:</strong>&nbsp;(visit usbenefits.nov.com for more information about our benefits offerings)</p>\n<ul>\n <li>401(k) Retirement Plan – NOV matches every dollar up to 5% of base pay and overtime for every dollar you invest.</li>\n <li>Competitive medical plans that are effective your date of hire.
