MRB Coordinator (Material Review Board) Location: San Jose, CA
About the Role Employment Type: Full-Time, Temporary (with potential for permanent conversion)
The MRB Coordinator is responsible for managing Material Review Board (MRB) activities and ensuring timely disposition of non-conforming materials. This role serves as a key liaison between customers, quality, engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure customer requirements are understood and properly implemented throughout the manufacturing process. The MRB Coordinator will maintain accurate records, support quality initiatives, and help drive the efficient resolution of material and product quality issues.
Required Skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Familiarity with electronic and mechanical components used in PCBA contract manufacturing. Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, employees, customers, and suppliers. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to apply practical judgment in day-to-day situations. Knowledge of ESD requirements, IPC-A-610, IPC-600, and industry workmanship standards. Proficient organizational and time management skills.
Key Responsibilities Maintain accurate MRB and non-conformance records and databases. Review and process non-conforming materials in accordance with company procedures and customer requirements. Communicate and interpret customer specifications and quality requirements. Ensure timely disposition, tracking, and return of MRB materials. Develop a solid understanding of quality-related documentation, including customer specifications, procedures, flow charts, engineering drawings, process instructions, and regulatory requirements. Coordinate with Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to resolve material and product issues. Monitor and report MRB trends, recurring issues, and corrective action opportunities. Support audits and continuous improvement initiatives related to quality processes. Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced Quality Technicians, as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Education High school diploma or GED required, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Experience Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a contract manufacturing or electronics manufacturing environment. Experience working with MRB, non-conforming material processes, or quality systems is preferred. Language Strong English communication skills required. Mandarin proficiency is highly preferred.
