    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Company Description</span></p>\n<p>G Mining Ventures’ (“GMIN”) mission is to acquire, build, operate and explore for sustainable precious metal mining operations using our proven “self-perform” approach, while focusing on the health and safety of our employees and host communities.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Job Summary</span></p>\n<p>Reporting to the Engineering Superintendent, the Senior Mine Engineer will be responsible for providing technical leadership and hands-on engineering support to both open-pit and underground mining operations. This role plays a critical part in mine planning, design, scheduling, and operational optimization from early start-up through ramp-up and steady-state operations.</p>\n<p>The Senior Mine Engineer will act as the cross-shift counterpart to the Engineering Superintendent, ensuring continuity of engineering leadership and decision-making during the Superintendent’s absences. This position requires strong technical expertise in both open-pit and underground mining, as well as the ability to operate autonomously on site.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Working Conditions</span></p>\n<p>The Senior Mine Engineer position at the OKO West project site in Guyana will be a rotation-based role, offering flexibility in scheduling to accommodate the successful candidate’s location and personal preferences.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Key Responsibilities</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">1. Mine Planning &amp; Engineering</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Conduct pit optimization for open-pit operations and stope optimization for underground mining to define economically optimal mining limits.</li>\n<li>Estimate mineral resources, determine cut-off grades, and support mineral reserve calculations through technical analysis and economic evaluation.</li>\n<li>Prepare detailed mine designs including pit phases, stope layouts, development plans, and production schedules.</li>\n<li>Develop and maintain short-, medium-, and long-term mine plans aligned with production targets, cost objectives, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.</li>\n<li>Contribute to annual mine planning, budgeting, and production forecasting.</li>\n<li>Support the design and optimization of underground infrastructure including ramps, ventilation networks, dewatering systems, and material handling systems.</li>\n<li>Evaluate and update mining fleet requirements and equipment replacement plans to support operational efficiency.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">2. Operational Support &amp; Optimization</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide direct engineering support to site operations during commissioning, ramp-up, and steady-state production.</li>\n<li>Collaborate with geology, mining operations, and processing teams to optimize mine design and sequencing.</li>\n<li>Identify and implement opportunities to improve mine planning practices, sequencing, and operational efficiency.</li>\n<li>Support the integration of new technologies, digital tools, and automation solutions within engineering processes.</li>\n<li>Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and consultants to ensure quality and timely execution of engineering work.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">3. Leadership &amp; Team Development</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Support the Engineering Superintendent in leading the Mine Engineering team and delivering engineering objectives.</li>\n<li>Contribute to engineering strategy development and provide technical recommendations to the Mine Manager.</li>\n<li>Assist in the recruitment, development, and mentoring of engineering personnel.</li>\n<li>Communicate work objectives, priorities, and performance expectations to support production targets.</li>\n<li>Participate in performance reviews and provide technical feedback and coaching to engineering staff.</li>\n<li>Provide engineering leadership and decision-making support when acting on behalf of the Engineering Superintendent.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">4. Compliance, Safety &amp; Sustainability</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure engineering activities comply with company standards, Guyanese regulations, and industry best practices.</li>\n<li>Promote and support health, safety, and environmental best practices across all engineering activities.</li>\n<li>Identify, report, and address unsafe conditions and behaviors in accordance with company procedures.</li>\n<li>Provide visible safety leadership to engineering teams, contractors, and site personnel to support a zero-harm culture.</li>\n<li>Support environmental management initiatives and ensure compliance with permitting requirements.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Requirements</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Experience</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience supporting greenfield mining project development and operational ramp-up is highly desirable.</li>\n<li>Strong project coordination and leadership skills within multidisciplinary teams.</li>\n<li>Proficiency in mining software such as Deswik, GEOVIA Whittle, Datamine, Hexagon MinePlan (MineSight), Surpac, or Civil 3D.</li>\n<li>Experience with underground mine infrastructure including ventilation, dewatering, and power distribution systems.</li>\n<li>Knowledge of applicable mining regulations and operational standards.</li>\n<li>Demonstrated ability to work autonomously in a site-based environment while supporting management and operational teams.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><br></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Education/Certification/Designation</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering (Master’s degree considered an asset).</li>\n<li>8-12 years of mining operation and engineering experience,</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><br></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Required Behavioural Skills</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Strategic Thinking &amp; Global Focus:</span> Understands long-term objectives and aligns engineering strategies accordingly.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Stakeholder Relationship Management</span>: Builds and maintains strong relationships with internal and external partners.</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Personal Leadership &amp; Accountability:</span> Demonstrates integrity, initiative, and commitment to continuous improvement.</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Team Development &amp; Culture Building: Invests</span> in team growth through coaching, engagement, and development initiatives.</li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Operational Excellence:</span> Drives efficiency and innovation through structured execution and accountability.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>G Mining Venture welcomes all applications and is committed to assessing them without discriminatory bias.
