What is the role
dotCMS is a visual, headless CMS built for compliance-led enterprises that need to manage and scale digital content across brands, regions, and channels.
As a Sr. Sales Engineer at dotCMS, you'll play a crucial role in helping customers, prospects and partners understand the value of dotCMS platform. With a focus on aligning their needs to the product's capabilities, your job is to become their trusted technical advisor.
You will play a critical role through the evaluation process, bridging the gap between the product's technical intricacies and the organization’s requirements, and ultimately securing the technical win. You'll demonstrate the value of dotCMS through product demonstrations, proof of concepts and identifying unique solutions.
As the first GTM hire based in Europe, you will play a key role in growing the European market. You will be part of the team whose focus is on increasing awareness, creating new opportunities and growing established relationships within the region. In partnership with the sales, marketing and partnership team, you will drive measurable business outcomes for some of the most recognized organizations in the world.
Overall, the role of a Sr. Sales Engineer at dotCMS involves combining technical expertise with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. We're proud to be 100% remote! Please note this is a full-time position (contractor or EOR), and we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Responsibilities:
Participate in discovery calls to identify the customers, prospects and partners’ needs - especially during the solution phase to better understand technical needs.
Draft and deliver compelling, tailored demos showcasing company product features and creating configured software solutions to meet their needs.
Build customer POCs that address custom requirements.
Support pre-sales activities, product positioning, and responding to technical clarifications.
Collaborate across Sales, Marketing, Product, Engineering, and other teams to align and scope solutions supporting each organization’s goals.
Use specific knowledge about dotCMS technologies to increase new business.
Work cross-functionally with Sales and other teams to grow the pipeline and improve customer satisfaction.
Expected travel around 30% of the time.
Why do we get excited about you
+5 years in Sales Engineering roles, selling within SaaS, or related industry experience.
Hands-on experience with modern Front-end technologies such as NextJS, HTML, Vue, Angular, and/or React.
Proven experience:
Selling to IT, Developer and Marketing personas
Strong understanding of software architecture, cloud computing, APIs, and integrations
Experience running POCs and product demos end-to-end
Experience with headless CMS, DXP, or adjacent martech (CDP, personalization platforms)
Hands-on experience with JavaScript, Docker, and CSS frameworks
Experience selling into regulated industries — Financial Services, Healthcare, Telco, or Government
Ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
Experience working with partners in both partner-led and partner-supported sales motions
Availability to travel (30% of the time).
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or any related field. Equivalent experience would be considered.
Desirable Additional Characteristics
Experience working with a Content Management Platform or similar technology is preferable.
Experience working with cloud technologies is a plus.
