    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>The<strong> Floater</strong> is responsible for supporting day-to-day camp operations by stepping into various roles as needed, including camper groups and activity areas. They are assigned based on daily staffing needs and help ensure smooth transitions, safety, and camper engagement when regular staff are out or additional coverage is needed.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>This job announcement is not intended to be inclusive of all functions, responsibilities and qualifications associated with the position, however, representative of the essential job functions and typical criteria considered necessary to successfully perform the position.</em></p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide direct support to assigned groups or activity areas by stepping into counselor or instructor roles as needed to ensure continuity of supervision and programming.</li>\n <li>Adapt quickly to changing schedules or coverage needs while maintaining a positive presence and prioritizing camper safety and engagement.</li>\n <li>Supervise and participate in all assigned aspects of the campers’ day which includes but is not limited to: camper check-in and check-out; meal times; activities and extended am and extended pm duties as assigned.</li>\n <li>Attend and participate in two weeks of Leadership Staff Training and General Staff Training. </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>This position requires the ability to lead and instruct a group of campers in their assigned activity area. </li>\n <li>Must be 18 years of age or older </li>\n <li>Have knowledge in safety, care of equipment, inventory, skill instruction, and progressive age appropriate programming.</li>\n <li>Must be able to identify age and grade level characteristics of campers. </li>\n <li>Previous camp experience or experience working with groups of children is preferred.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>WORKING CONDITIONS:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to work in excess of a 40-hour week with irregular work hours.</li>\n <li>Ability to walk, stand, sit, kneel & bend (including on the floor) for long periods of time.</li>\n <li>Exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.</li>\n <li>Must be able to lift and/or assist children up to 50 pounds in weight.</li>\n <li>Must be able to lift and carry food and supplies weighing up to 20 pounds.</li>\n <li>Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Benefits</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>YMCA Membership</li>\n <li>Discounted Programs</li>\n <li>12% Employer Retirement Contribution</li>\n <li>Paid Sick Time</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Posted Salary Range</h2>USD $200.00 - USD $500.00 /Wk.",
